Ha did they call a foul? I was watching on my phone with no volume. Didn’t look like a foul to me but either way still shouldn’t miss a dunk.

Haha yeah my wife was watching something. I’m not going to use up any goodwill to watch 5 minutes of the Richmond game. I’ve learned to pick my battles.

Maybe Joes. Their best players last night were all new - two transfers and a freshman, and as someone pointed out elsewhere in this thread, they’re playing an unorthodox style. So maybe their new guys will make them better than we expected, or maybe by the time we get to the league part of the schedule teams will have figured them out.

UMass I’m pretty sure is terrible. They’ve played pretty lousy teams so far but if they’re going to play a bad schedule at least they are winning which is good for the league. That roster is bad. Tre Mitchell is going to be a legit guy but not sure I see many other A10 players there right now.
Ryan Daly has been great for St Joseph’s in shooting and in rebounding. He transferred from Delaware after 2 years in CAA conference. Sat out last year. A bright spot for them. Projected #13 preseason - about right based on so far

For UMASS I wrote more in the UMASS thread in “other college sports”. We play UMASS and St Joseph’s twice this year so these are 4 important games to win this year for URI.
UMASS has exceeded expectations now (3-0) with road win at Fairfield and good win over Northeastern. NE had upset #44 ranked Harvard.

UMASS has upcoming games wit Virginia and from Arizona State/St Johns at Mohegan Sun. Home game with South Carolina. 7 of 13 OOC games with teams from Top 144 Madness rankings.

3 of UMASS freshmen are in A10 Top 16 in PPG
3 UMASS freshmen among top 5 in UMASS minutes played. A very young team that could improve fast.

Wrapping up Friday action:

Duquesne easily handled Lipscomb, last season's Atlantic Sun Champion, 58-35, for the Duke's third straight win. Duquesne has a favorable OOC schedule and other than several neutral site games, they do not see a true road game until they play at St. Joe's on January 8.

In games involving URI OOC opponents;

After a tight first half, West Virginia pulled away to grab a road win at Pitt, 68-53.

In a intra state battle, Western Kentucky beat Eastern Kentucky, 79-71.

Vermont is going to be Buffalo of last year. Maybe not quite as good, but can see them winning a game in the tourney

Need Bonnies and Davidson to get it together. Would be a good W for them.

I don’t think we will overlook Nichols, but I also think we are a lot better than Pittsburgh. I’d expect our game to go more or less like the LSU game. Get challenged on the way to a comfy win.

Nice win for the Bonnies. I know Rutgers is the doormat of the BIG10 but it’s still an A10 win over a P5 school.

Sorry for delay in posting I had sign-in problems which a klutz like me couldn't resolve quickly.

Sunday marks the final day of Week #2 of the College Basketball season and this is the action in the A-10:

Jacksonville State at VCU, 12 Noon. On ESPN+. This is a campus game in the Emerald Coast Classic. As stated earlier VCU won this one easily 93-65.

Seton Hall at Saint Louis, 4 PM. On ESPN. A good chance for the A-10 to shine.

CSU Northridge at Richmond, 4 PM. On ESPN+. A regional game in the Legends Classic

There are no involving URI OOC opponents.

Also noteworthy - #15 Florida visits UConn, 3 PM. On ESPN.
