Davidson’s offense has not yet arrived in Hawaii.

Davidson looks overmatched, but Nevada just keeps steamrolling teams. I really love them. I think they are so good.

It might be more coaching than anything (Mark Gottfried certainly has his critics), but coaches in the A10 or MWC or similar level conferences should talk about what Cody and Caleb Martin are doing at that level compared to the ACC. They have great stats and are leading a really good team and getting lots of attention doing so.

Yup. I can't understand why that isn't an easier sell for kids. My best guess is that kids like the idea of going to a more well known school and they all assume they will be big stars once they get there. I'm sure they are told that they will be during the recruiting process. It would take a really mature, really smart kid to get it as a junior in high school. Doesn't mean coaches shouldn't try to deliver the message.

I took Duquesne over USF I liked the way Fuquesne was blowing out bad teams

I also took New Mexico State v Davidson I was impressed with Nmsu winning at Illini

All of a sudden Davidson doesn't look so outmatched. Look like a different team in second half, have stormed back to take a seven point lead.

Ugh. Davidson loses a heartbreaker. Davidson fought back in second half, opened up a little lead, then the game was a seesaw down the stretch. Aldridge put Davidson ahead with 23 seconds, but New Mexico scored on a put-back with 11 seconds to retake the lead. Aldridge's three at the buzzer to win it was off the mark. Too bad. Could have had it.

while pure speculation, don't you think ASU's success indirectly hurts us? If I am Danny, I am thinking what could I do with more resources? If I am an AD in search of a coach, I am thinking the bloodlines are even stronger. All topics to discuss with four more days off.

I don't think it matters a whole lot. Dan has always known resources are huge, which is why he's made a point of having upgrades front and center in renegotiations with us. And as long as he wins here he's going to be on P5 athletic directors lists no matter who his relatives are.

If anything it might help. As ASU climbs there will be more national stories about them, which will probably mention URI as one of his stops and Dan as the coach here. More national attention for us, even indirectly, is good

Don't forget the brother rivalry. It has always been that Bobby was the better player but Dan is the better coach. Now that Bobby is at #3 in the country, that perception changes too. I'm sure Dan is extremely thrilled for Bobby right now, but there's still that brotherly rivalry that makes Dan want to be better than Bobby.

Bobby's success will most certainly need to increased attention to the entire family, including Dan, and our program. But the list of potential suiters for Dan will only increase because of Bobby's success. After all he is in Dan's coaching tree, if you think about it.

Nevada came out flat but they are back in the game. I think their talent will win out.

Idiot from Nevada "saves" the ball right to Nevada setting up a transition go-ahead three with seven seconds left, as Nevada throws up on itself and falls to trash team San Franscisco. Ugh.

I guess in some way we can take comfort in the fact that other good teams have no-show head scratching efforts, too. But this is significantly not good for URI's OOC body of work.

Right there with you, reef. Livid is a good word for it. I felt this one like a Rhody loss (well, almost).

We’ll be fine. The new NCAA selection sheet will see this as a quadrant 1 game regardless. A true road game stays Q1 as long as it’s top 75.

Our RPI may slip a bit...but this makes yesterday’s A10 win against San Fran help the Dukes RPI.

This will all balance out.

We have the marquee win, now we just have to take care of our business and we’ll be fine.

Great game by Davidson 6’5” Freshman Kellan Grady in the win.
