Winnable game. While I'm certainly not calling this a definite win, Lasalle isn't anything special. Although they did beat gw. Should be a dog fight

Guard oriented teams don't scare me.
It's the teams with the big horses up front that do.
Wright is better than any of our frontcourt, but he's about
it for real inside threats.
If we can actually hit our early shots, this could be a wild shootout.

I watched them twice recently. Zack, 6-11, 245, 10ppg, 9 rpg and 2bpg looks likke a matchuup nightmare as well.

La Salle is a well balanced team, has good defenders and they can shot the ball. Just too much for an error prone Rhody squad.

It would be a nice time for a win considering we have a winnable game at home on Saturday. However, our team is turning into Gil with its inconsistency. I'm looking for a turn around this evening and getting into double figures in the win column. Go Rhody!

Looking at La Salle, they have a lot of fluff in that 8 of their wins come outside of the top 100, 5 from 200+ ...pretty much exactly like us.

The difference being that this is 1 starter removed from a sweet 16 team at home, that also beat a team that embarrassed us.

Rod, it's been tough to judge what teams with big frontcourts are going to beat us...LSU has a HUGE front line, and it seems like we've stuggled against smaller ones. I do agree though that our problems lie in the paint on D and that's where we get burned...not from the guards. So no matter the size, it seems like this year if we win down low, we'll win the game.

All in all, I don't see how anyone can predict what this team is going to do on any given night.

Yes, Southern Miss' front court killed us almost as bad as Arizona and SMU did.

OK time for a bounce back from the GW disaster. Again my usual scenario(which often doesn't pan out)we/ll hang around to the 5 minute mark, make some free throws,and sting one of the upper tier teams.....

A couple of things to watch:
1. Dan said at the Mews that he backed off the intensity in the practices leading up to the GW game, but now realizes he can't do that with this group. So practices recently were pretty intense. Hopefully that carries over to the first half of this game.
2. Staff has been working with Biggie to get him playing like they think he can. i think he starts again, regardless of what KMac said today, and they hope he plays better. Dan also said that the offense flows better with T.J. at the point, so Biggie might have a short leash again. Regardless of what we think of Biggie, Dan thinks he can be very good and is giving him that chance.

Totally agree, but I do it every time anyway. Especially sucks because it rarely actually works as it should. I haven't bought a game yet where the audio didn't start to not match the video in the 2nd half. I didnt purchase the last couple though because I was out of town, so hopefully they got that fixed.

Called Fat Bellys and Rhody joes and both said they don't get because they have Direct TV, but someone told me they've watched Cox games RJ's before. Couldn't get the Mews to answer the phone. I assume most bars have Direct TV and not Cox cable.....

I can't speak for specifics of places around there, but I know alot of bars will usually have DirecTV but then also have the local cable service as well, for reasons like this. I know here in San Diego they do at least, because there is a local TV station that has alot of local sports on it just like Cox in RI.

The Ryan Center puts these facilities to shame...La Salle looks like a toilet bowl. Heck Keaney puts it to shame... GW not that much better...and Duquesne looks poor as well...

Ugh just checked in on espn... looks like we could be off to another GW type start? Got a lag on gamecast...

EDIT it was 7-0 when I opened it. Now it looks as if we are at least playing basketball. Lets hope for a competitive game. Man have my expectations been lowered

We have more non-Cox games on the schedule than ever before. Cox is doing us a favor in driving down to Philly to produce this game so we can watch it at all.
