You had posted many times that KJ wasn't leaving, and you would have the last laugh.
You also said that Hammond was staying because of Archie.
Now we bring back your favorite Rhody player, Bassy.
Just want to make sure you are all good.
Of course, you realize this is just some friendly razzing.
Hang in there.
Hammond was a surprise to leave, but like anything, give me the experience guy over the developing freshman these days.
Bassy, like Fatts, in the right system with the right coach, can be a good PG. I'm assuming Archie didn't bring him in here to shoot 16 times in a game. I think we'll be fine if he plays within himself.

Everyone can’t be a starter. Then everyone would leave every team. If they fit a role and get time, they should be happy.Rhody Sody wrote: ↑1 month agoLast I heard Cam was very happy to here, things change this time of year tho so who knows.Rhody15 wrote: ↑1 month ago Luis and Always have to be leaving.

DeanDome, I think part of it is what are fans comfortable with and/or favor: potential (potential of freshman and inexperience) or maturity (physical and mental plus experience).DeanDome88 wrote: ↑1 month agoI always appreciated Thomas hustle. I'm glad he is back. I like the size of the fight in that dog and it was definitely missing on this team last season from some of the now departed players. Is he a major talent? Not really, but I like rooting for the young guy.
At this time with the way that the game is trending, I favor maturity/experience over potential if given the choice. And, I am a big Hammond supporter and love his game. But, I want to see Rhody return to relevance soon and players like Hammond need time to adjust.
In my perfect roster, we would have a mix of young, patient players with potential and mature, experienced players but with the ladder leading the way and playing more.

For those that are 1/2 empty, I get it. With the Bassy 2.0, this probably where the program is at this point. Meh at best.

Loving the people who now are like “eh, never really wanted Hammond anyways, too short, would've taken too long to develop and adjust, give me a more experienced player” when for MONTHS they were salivating at Hammond coming here.

Re: Men's Basketball Transfer Carousel and Portal - 2024-25
I think everyone knows Hammond is a loss. I personally felt this was likely coming for a while, so I mentally prepared for it. The question brought up was, would you rather have Hammond or Lawerence next year? A few of us feel like Lawerence is the better player now, myself included. Hammond has the tools to be special, but I don't think it would happen freshman year. If we know that Hammond would come and stick around for 3 seasons, then he's a massive massive loss. In this day and age, the chances of that happening are slim to none, so it doesn't really hurt as much as it would have years ago. It sucks, but that's just college basketball now.Rhody15 wrote: ↑1 month ago Loving the people who now are like “eh, never really wanted Hammond anyways, too short, would've taken too long to develop and adjust, give me a more experienced player” when for MONTHS they were salivating at Hammond coming here.

Archie responded and landed two players who will help us win more games next year. I'm happy with what he's done so far, but there is still plenty of work left to be done.

It’s early and there’s lotsa fish out there…
What’s the latest on Miranda? Would he even qualify academically at this point? (Does that matter anymore?)
I’ll take a 5 star project with a close pal on the team all day. Would also get URI hoops on the radar big time no?

The trials and tribulations of being a fan - especially on KB where there is a hunger to get back to winning.PeterRamTime wrote: ↑1 month agoI saw like one person say that. Like you posted above, PRT, a tale as old as time or, as I would say…a tale of fandom as old as time. Or, even more specifically, maybe it’s a tale of Rhody fandom as old as Frank Keaney if he were still alive.
So what if objectivity takes a back seat occasionally on a fan forum. Be a fan and enjoy it and have fun with it. Rhody fans come in all stripes and sizes.
Go Rhody!

I said it would have been exciting to watch Hammond for ONE YEAR. And you remember that’s what I said, because it was only 6 hours ago that I said it and Rhody15 has absolutely no comeback for that because he knows it’s right.
Which of course pisses him off because he always has to be right. So instead he puts words in your mouth and tries to get you to own them.

Yes, I would put Fuchs at the top of the list, but I love Cam, too. I hope he stays. I hope he's okay with developing one more year and being a full-time starter in his junior/senior year. He should still have an important role this year as well.NYGFan_Section208 wrote: ↑1 month agoNo, I thought Fuchs...but I as much as I 'like' basketball, I don't know that much about it...Billyboy78 wrote: ↑1 month agoI don't see Cam staying here if he's not starting. My wife (former collegiate gymnast) and I were here for the championships on Thursday and today, since its a reasonable drive from Houston to Dallas. Yeah Bassy is the only guy who would solely play the PG. Ways is def left out.Rhodymob05 wrote: ↑1 month ago I don’t understand how we would lose more guards. Teams need at least 4/5 guards.
Luis/JLaw can play 1-3. They'd provide spot duty along with playing the 2 and 3 with Cam and House.
The only thing is the wing player we get will be able to play the 3 or 4. So they'd help back up Green and probably be put in with Green?
Starting 5
Bassy
JLaw
House
Green
Fuchs
Luis
Cam
Wing transfer
Farrell
Fuchs back up
Yeah...idk

URI reached out to Bassy, so I think there had to be some level of frank discussion, especially considering it’s Thomas’ last year of eligibility.NYGFan_Section208 wrote: ↑1 month agoDo you think that was promised? I don’t think Miller 100% promises starting roles but he might say things like it’s yours to lose.
At any rate, I’m thrilled with the addition.

We could do worse.
What this indicates to me is actually a positive.
Based on the players who have stayed and those who have left, we could have a squad who gives consistent effort, even though the talent level might still not be good enough to contend at the top of the A10.
