Re: '22 PG Jamarques Lawrence (Nebraksa —> URI)
Interesting intel from Nebraska media up above.
Based on the intel, by my count, we currently have 2 true PG’s (Hammond and Ways) and 2 that can play PG if necessary (Lawrence and Kort).
Therefore, it appears we are in good shape at the PG position for at least the next few years - as long as we can retain Hammond, Lawrence and Ways with Kort graduating after next season ?
Also, since Ways is still here, I am guessing Arch thinks he could improve this offseason and bring value to the team as a backup PG while being low cost in NIL.
On to adding help in the front court.

Unfortunately, this post was rendered almost immediately moot. No more Hammond.Jdrums#3 wrote: ↑5 months ago Interesting intel from Nebraska media up above.

I really thought Hammond was coming for at least a year. I was excited.
I am disappointed but, you know what I just realized ? I am not going to allow the fickle decision making of teenagers dictate my outlook of the program.

How good is this kid? Don’t know too much about him. Stats aren’t eye popping, but coming from the Big10 should say something.
How does he slot in at Rhody?

I don’t think he’d leave a tournament team where he started to come here to be a bench guy.SandorClegane wrote: ↑5 months ago How good is this kid? Don’t know too much about him. Stats aren’t eye popping, but coming from the Big10 should say something.

Complete guess here but I’d say he starts and plays 30+ minutes
Go Rhody

Sadly the success of program is in the hands of fickle teenagers…we have no choice!Jdrums#3 wrote: ↑5 months agoJust brutal. Re: '22 PG Jamarques Lawrence (Nebraksa —> URI)
I think he fits this team well, in that his defensive numbers are very good. Nebraska played the 37th ranked schedule, according to Sports Reference, and he had 1.4 steals per 40, which would have led our team. However, he'll need to be more careful with the ball. He had 3.5 TO per 40 this year, and his career mark is 3.0 TO per 40. The only one with a higher rate on our team last year was Rory Stewart (5.6), with everyone else clustered around 2.9 or lower. If you're feeling optimistic, he would be a good starter if you factor in Miller emphasizing ball control (URI generally hasn't turned the ball over a ton with him as head coach) and the upgrade in his numbers across the board when you factor in the jump to the A-10 from the Big Ten.SandorClegane wrote: ↑5 months ago How good is this kid? It appears that Luis isn't thrilled with Lawrence coming here. His quote was something like ' Grown men (that's us) pillow talking about the new guy', followed by the puking emoji....... Great togetherness with this team!

Don’t think it was puking it was LOL’g
Of course players read KB. If any of us saw our name in a thread we’d all read it.
Some of the stuff posted in team forums is LOL worthy. I’m not the least bit offended by Luis post.
Just reinforces my opinion that most players read KB.

The A10 has always been a guard heavy league. I like Luis and him and Lawrence playing together will be great I think. I think Luis is more of a 2 or combo and not a true point guard. Of course, I'm a keyboard warrior, so what do it know.

I'm excited about this addition. Solid player, known entity. The new reality is that portal movement will be the primary way to build rosters. Then fill with the incoming frosh with potential. Just the opposite of the NBA teams, who tend to shy away from 4/5 year college players and focus on the "children" with potential that they hope they can develop. Bizarro world, for sure.

I did see where Luis liked a tweet about adding 2 or 3 big men.

Re: '22 PG Jamarques Lawrence (Nebraksa —> URI)
I wonder where we got the throne ?
Did we have it made or confiscate it from the theater program storage room.
And, while I focus on this very important issue…how come it isn’t Keaney Blue ?
These questions may be best saved for the KB slow season during summer.

I’m expecting him to score maybe 12 a game hopefully with 4 dimes and hopefully he is one of our better defenders

Re: '22 PG Jamarques Lawrence (Nebraksa —> URI)
4 dimes is a good start, Reef.
I am hoping he can control/settle down the O when we need it, pass first or shoot us out of scoreless dry spells we are susceptible to, be able to push the ball and make good decisions on the break, help keep our turnover rate down and be one of our leaders on D.
I am not asking for much.

Re: '22 PG Jamarques Lawrence (Nebraksa —> URI)
I would have guessed more assists then I saw the Vault quote about he’s more of a 2 than a 1
Looks like he’s looking for a bigger role than he had with Nebraska so that could be good for us !
