Saw a list of projected ‘24 NCAAT Units for all conferences on the UConn Realignment Board. With the FF set, here are the projected conference NCAAT Units payouts for local basketball centric conferences (A10 & NBE):

NBE - 11 units for $22 mil (5th most among all conferences) (11 team conference)

A10 - 4 units for $8 mil (8th most tied with the WCC)

In addition: WCC (also BB centric) has 9 teams; A10 has 15.

Of added interest to me…The ACC is # 1 in units with 17 for $34 mil. The MWC 10 units for $20 mil.

77,
If I put it in April Fool’s thread to start with then people would know, right? Whole idea is to “fool”. A10 Talk did a similar article last year too. Quite clever but as you read through it gets even more silly.

What the UConn women’s team has accomplished this season is really amazing, given all their injuries. Paige Bueckers is so much fun to watch.

For UConn this is the 5th time, but you're right - not sure how often it's happened twice in the same season. And not like NC State was "royalty" - breaking into the F4 in the women's game is so tough to do due to the talent discrepancy across the sport.

Last Night was great with the match up of LSU - Iowa because it was a match up of last year's Championship Game that was won by LSU
UConn vs Southern California was a good game as well last night

Whereas last night Caitlin Clark vs Angel Reese were the 2 big stars but they don't cover one another since Reese plays inside.
Friday night will have Caitlin Clark vs Paige Bueckers will likely go head-to-head making for a classic math-up

Friday Night April 5 will be very exciting:
  • 1-seed South Carolina vs 3 seed North Carolina State 7pm ESPN/ESPN+
  • 1-seed Iowa vs 3-seed UConn 9pm ESPN/ESPN+
Championship Game will be on Sunday

From a Talent Standpoint the 1st round Mock Draft Players (12 players per round):
2024 Draft:
#1 - Caitlin Clark - Iowa
#3 - Kamilla Cardoso - South Carolina
#6 - Aaliyah Edwards - UConn

2025 Draft:
#2 - Paige Bueckers - UConn
#9 - Te-Hina Paopao - South Carolina
#11 - Carolina Ducharme - UConn

Ramster, I am sure all the SLU fans will be tuning into the Indiana State/Utah game curiously watching their much anticiapted new head coach Schertz.
Also possibly some of their future players who will probably enter the portal and follow their HC to SLU.

Indiana State beat Utah 100-90. Josh Schertz has this team playing very well. Good defense and excellent passing. Utah with very efficient (17-29) 3P for 57% but that wasn't enough to overcome Indiana State.

Seton Hall tops Georgia 84-67.

100% both should have been in the NCAA field of 64. Way more fun to watch than several of the teams picked over them.

Clash of styles. High powered finesse offense vs Shaheen’s defense first approach.

Agree that both should have received bids.

The last NIT championship game at Madison Square Garden in NYC was back in 2022. Xavier beat Texas A&M in front of just 3,551 at the venue with a basketball configuration capacity of 19,812. The NIT attendance numbers had been declining for years at MSG. It is the main reason why it is no longer held there. The next site of Orleans Arena (cap 74,74) in Las Vegas also saw terrible numbers as just 1,290 attended the 2023 final between North Texas and UAB.

The lack of media coverage surrounding the NIT every year is truly astounding. Its a pretty good tournament, even with all of the opt outs.

That was a great ending. I really thought that Indiana State shot was about to go in at the end. Tough last possession for them, never got a real good look.

Purdue looks good so far, up 12-7. Really crashing the boards.

Didn’t like that early foul on the break at mid-court by Burns. He needs his fouls for Edey.

ETA: Burns makes some great passes.

Purdue is so annoying to guard. You either deal with Edey, who's a monster, or you double him, and he throws to a 40% 3-point shooter. So far, the Edey haters can't use free throws as an excuse. He's got 14 and 8 at the half and took two free throws. Also Edey didn't sit the entire first half.. That's crazy to me.. NC State has a ton of heart. Very fun team to root for.

Uconn would beat this NC State team by 100, so I really hope they don't win this game. We need a Uconn Purdue finals. I also want to see Dan get a little tested. So far, they haven't played anyone in their league. Maybe they are just that good, but I've seen teams give them trouble this year, and I think Purdue could be one of them.

Edey is a problem man. He fouls out everyone and really does have a nice hook shot. His eyes are always peaked for his shooters too.

Nah he sucks. He’s only good because the refs bail him out. No skill. No talent. Anyone his size could do what he does..

This isn’t impressive at all…

Be fun to have Zack and Clingon go for a natty though I’m thinking Bama is going to put a big test on UConn !

EC Matthews will be watching his coaches !

Bama’s playing a very good game so far, Reef. I didn’t think they matched up with UConn but you called it.

Yeah Drums I’m watching it , my thoughts are Bama is 8-11 from deep and UConn is still up 4 so I think DH has to like that

Alabama played really well. They had great energy, shot well from 3 and the free throw line, didn't turn the ball over much, had some highlight reel plays, Sears was great...and all that got them was a 14 point loss. This UConn team is unreal!

UConn is unreal but at the same token I love seeing how Dave Portnoy brought Miss Peaches out with him to Phoenix.

Yes. 3 former Rhody assistants in that game. Preston, Luke, and Tom Moore.

If you say you’re a Rhody fan, I know you are my brother. For you have suffered as I have suffered.

Give to the Athletic Director's Fund

Give to Rhody's NIL

Moore was never really an assistant, was he? More of an undercover poacher, confederate type it seemed.
And we all shoulda known when he never relocated...
