No problem with Ways and Zek staying.

Ways is still raw, good athlete...who knows, could be a decent back up and he did have a few flashes!

Zek I'm definitely fine with. Don't think we should just give up on him. He showed enough flashes to prove that he can be a good player, we've seen it. We at least know there's a chance that he can get it together. He has the ability to do so.

Not just the nicest guy but Reef is a very long term poster on KB and Reef is one of the most knowledgeable people I know of not just college basketball but college football, NFL, MLB……you name the sport.
So if I stand up for him and take a beating so be it.
You are the man Ramster ! Thanks for the support !

A 3 second google search will show you it’s open for 45 days from Monday March 18th
But that’s not what Reef asked.

Reef asked what is the last day to put your name in the Portal.
That 3 second google search left a remaining task to take March 18th, get out the calendar and add 45 days to March 18th and then you have your date.

If Reef asked what is the expected high Temperature in Kingston tomorrow March 21st you wouldn’t say the average high Temperature for February 8th is 22F but add 30 degrees to that because it’s now Spring……..or would you?

Plus doesn’t Reef have you banned?
Holy hell you are like a gnat.

The point I was trying to make is he can simply google it and figure it out hinself, like 99% of his other posts.

I figured he’d be to do that math, but probably not.

He needs to be spoon fed every bit of information.

But you do you and keep over analyzing every post and writing monologues.
Do you have any friends?

ahh.. the good ole days of Vegas !!!
He bullies and picks on more than just Reef, but to treat Reef like he does makes zero sense, just mean.

I'm trying to somewhat ignore all the rumors and guesses, but I can't ignore this. If these 2 players are back next year and play any significant role we are screwed. Neither one of them can play a lick of defense . Wright tries but he is extremely limited offensively. Montgomery just did not give much of an effort for the most part. Green, Fuchs, Cam, maybe House and 9 new hungry players. Problem is who is going to recruit these hungry players???

Ok and there's absolutely no hope at all for either to develop into better players?

Oh wait I forgot, we can only be overwhelmingly pessimistc about everything surrounding our program right now, got it.

There is no hope, any flashes our players showed means nothing. Our sucking had nothing to do with having to flip a roster every year and half the team not play from eligibility or injuries. Teams and players in college basketball never turn it around. There's only thousands of examples of programs and players sucking and then getting dramatically better over time. Super rare! Doomed we are!

Our defense didn't suck this year because we played packline or Archie forgot how to coach defense. Hell, our defense last year was nationally average with whatever parts Archie could assemble in a month. Our defense sucked this year because the players' effort sucked on the defensive end

Exactly. It wasn’t a coaching problem. It was a player effort problem 100%

Players we like: "Why won't they stay and develop here!"

Players we don't like: "Get out of here, you'll never develop!"

There are a lot of fans that really don't like the players...

Exactly, we have a lot of the same people simultaneously up in arms about the transfer rules and making lists of which players they want kicked off the team. Very hypocritical.

So, I guess the HC isn't responsible for his team putting out a strong effort.

Successful coaches will bring out the best in their players including effort.

Besides who is also responsible for building this roster?

Sorry, we sucked this season and ultimately that is on the staff, they need to up their game.

look at R15 trying to make a point on me..

not sure why you have to personally go after people on here

we are all on the same team

again.. and i repeat.. again...

i much rather prefer to keep all the players and go back to the good ole days over getting rid of players

i have been nothing but consistent for my disdain going back to years it started about the portal

so.. me wanting to throw guys off the team is a direct result of the rules we have to play with

Koch saying it’d be a big loss on Twitter.

Really? Would it?

We’ve gone 9-22 and 12-20 with Kenny.

Can our record and players get any worse?

Don’t think so.

I'm talking about budget restraints. No matter how good of a recruiter you are, you aren't getting good players if you can't pay them.

Agree with this, particularly the head coach. People act surprised Foumena put his name in the portal, this is 100% on Archie not playing him. Has nothing to do with NIL, it has to do with playing time and if he gets a little extra money in the process, bonus. Even before the NIL and the crazy world we currently live in, not playing at all at the end of a season where you were playing in the beginning, as a red shirt freshman behind people you think you are better than, more often than not ended in the player transferring. I wish him luck and this is the one player leaving that could have easily been avoided. Oh and by the way, the player that was playing over him is leaving as well, just a dumb decision all the way around.

We are talking about assistant coaches, they come and go all the time.
That has always been the case, I don't blame them if they get the opportunity to trade up.

If he didn’t recruit our only two recruits of an entire year, I wouldn’t be as mad. There’s a reason we stopped recruiting for 24’, because we had commits. Lol now If they go, that puts us a whole year behind. Madness. And honestly it wasn’t that long ago, so did Kenny know he was going?

I don't think so, because the position only recently opened up.

Besides most of this movement usually happens at the close of the season.

so...kj leaves and the new freshman recruits with him...isn't it just as likely that we can get better players than those two freshmen via the portalet?
I just don't see 'years of eligibility' as a factor any more. Have they hired a GM yet?

ETA...this is how much the game has changed.
Next year, if you could have Bassey or Hammond, who do you take?

Now, who do you take if you know that you only get one year and that year is next year?

Not likely either gets us to the NCAAT. Therefore, in your scenario I take neither.

Pat: Oh, I'm sorry, that's not how this round works. 1 year and one year only, and you have to take one.

Reminds me of a joke I heard today...
Three guys (with occupations that people make fun of...choose your own) are all drowning and you can only save one of them.

It’s going to happen eventually, it’s happening at other schools. A few former URI guys are currently on portal watch.

Those two Cornell kids can play. I'd take either of them.

Same watched both of Cornell’s games vs Fordham & George Mason, it says Grey is 6’3” looks closer to 6’5” imho, but both of them are well rounded

It be a hoot on this board if Sebastian Thomas were the first and returned as starting PG

I hope Zek is not a significant part of our team next year. If Archie needs to give him a push, I hope he does it. We know Zek is a defensive liability and has a low bb IQ- let’s at least make a real effort to get complete bb players next year.

Imagine “Rhody Rehab is Open” if that were to happen? There would be a long line to get in.
