Someone here told me I was crazy when I said they didn’t deserve the Top 10-15 billing they got early in season. They were media darlings, deservedly so, but it’s very hard for any non power school to repeat the kind of success. Fwiw PCs resume is much better than theirs. Much better.

I know they lost in the first round last year.

Lol part of that has to do with the fact PC played 15 quad 1 games to FAU's 4bigappleram wrote: ↑1 month ago Someone here told me I was crazy when I said they didn’t deserve the Top 10-15 billing they got early in season. FAU's win over AZ is still better than any PC has.
They're 25-7
You were saying they'd be like 40th
They'll dance again and they'll probably make noise again.
FAU is very much in the tournament.
They weren't media darlings at all, almost everyone has been counting on their demise all year as far as I can tell.

Here’s hoping we get a Purdue - St. Peter’s rematch in the Round of 64.

I don’t think the committee compares power conference teams to non power conference apples to apples. Power conferences will always have more quad 1 wins but have many more opportunities.

Since it matters so much to you, you don’t need to live vicariously through others. Embrace the role you played in keeping PC out. The fact that you suck so much that it’s a Q4 game for us is not helpful.

Misery loves company.
There's been plenty of that here at old State U.
Hopkins getting hurt was the difference. It happens.
BtW, UConn will win it again. Everybody else are losing games.

We do embrace it, quite well! And if we’re ever a bubble team while PC is terrible and we then post in the PC Forum venting frustration, please point out how absurd that is!
Just a shame PC might miss out on NCAA’s and say no the NIT, which would mean URI and PC have the same conclusion to the season, we’ll get ‘em next year!

So happy for Bashir Mason. He won three regular season conference championships at Wagner after staying and taking over for Dan but never made the tournament. This season, he wins the conference tournament at Saint Peter’s, and they’re going dancing.

Aren’t they basically around 40th and right around the last byes / bubble cut line? They may get in but their resume is spotty with some real bad losses.PeterRamTime wrote: ↑1 month agoLol part of that has to do with the fact PC played 15 quad 1 games to FAU's 4bigappleram wrote: ↑1 month ago Someone here told me I was crazy when I said they didn’t deserve the Top 10-15 billing they got early in season. Love stories like this...
Six days after he was dismissed by the team, (Dan) Monson led Long Beach State to the NCAA tournament with a 74-70 win over UC Davis on Saturday in the Big West tournament title game, adding at least a few more days to his tenure.
On Monday, Long Beach State announced it had "mutually" parted ways with Monson after 17 seasons, but the school agreed to allow him to coach the rest of the campaign. After LBSU lost five in a row entering the Big West tournament, there were few reasons to believe the season would last much longer for Monson and his crew.

I don't get why Oklahoma, Michigan State and especially Colorado are supposedly safe.
It's like they can't make up their mind what they value more. Metrics or quality wins?
Colorado has one win over a clear cut tournament team in Wazoo. Next best win is Oregon a couple times...why are they so clearly ahead of UVA, St John's Seton Hall, A&M, PC etc?

The team as constructed isn’t even CLOSE to a tourney team.
Under .500 overall. 10-11.
Interested to see how much they weigh total resume to wins by the current team.

I'd put all those teams ahead of them, easily.
How about this one.
Kansas State is 71 in the NET with wins over
Providence, Texas, Kansas, Iowa St, Baylor, BYU, Villanova and South Dakota State
They have one Q3 loss to Miami. Also a loss to OK St...but their resume is better if not the same as almost every single one of these other teams...but the NET says otherwise I guess. They aren't even on anyone's radar with all those good wins.

Big East outside of UConn is a fraud league. There are a few other good teams, I will admit PC was at one point in that group, but most of the league is no better than VCU, Duquesne, etc, many are much worse than Mid-level A10 teams. Just stack “quad 1” wins because those not any better teams wind up with better NET rankings. It will be proven again as the BE will get a large number of teams in and most will be bounced early by good teams from “crap” conferences. Outside UConn and Marquette (when Kolek is healthy) no team in the BE is that great.

Key to being a top rated league is when your 8th and 9th place teams go out and beat teams like St Marys and Texas tech in the non conference.rhodylaw wrote: ↑1 month agowoodennickel1 wrote: ↑1 month ago4 quad 1 wins since Hopkins went down is more then almost all the teams currently on bubble.

While PC (NET #57) has some significant wins against Quad 1 teams, this is a bit offset by more than half their total wins (11) coming in quad four games. 1/4 (five) of PC's wins came versus BE cellar dwellers Georgetown (205) and DePaul (#320).

I’m confused about why PC fans are coming to our message board today. It’s a massive day for their program as they may or may not make the tournament, and you want to come here to talk shit about Archie? Then again, most of their fanbase is like this, so I’m not surprised.

Look at todays BracketMatrix
St John’s is in only 65 of 108
Seton Hall is in only 20 of 108
PC is in only 7 of 108
Odds are none of these 3 teams get in. St John’s is a bit above 50-50 chance
But then there's Dan Gavitt
