They definitely were good then.

They looked like a different team in the OOC and now they drank some EMBARONSING juice.
..people are still referring to our coach from 10+ years ago in insults?

Kinda petty.

Move on, we’re in a much better place now.

Didn’t make much sense how GMU was favored by 2.5.

GW is at home and has better talent up and down the roster.

Easy money there.

Maybe SLU will make it a game.
Sincere Parker just returned for them last game but was only limited to 3 minutes.
Doubtful he will make much of an impact at this time.

Stupid f'n Duqesne totally chokes away beating Richmond. Richmond struggling mightily against Duquesne without their best player isn't very impressive.

This was an incredibly sloppy low level basketball game. I think we would've beaten either of these teams by 20 tonight. Yikes.

Duquesne whish was selected 4th in the A10 this season is now 0-4.
It seems that Dambrot's seat has been warm for a while, last season's improvement may have bought him a little more time.

Duquesne did invest in their program, opening up the $45M newly renovated UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse Arena and Sports Performance Center in 2021.

Dambrot is in his seventh season at Duquesne. As of now, he has a 100-91 overall record and is 46-61 in the A-10. His overall record is however much diminished if you look into the level of the OOC opponents and the fact that school has in recent years played few OOC games outside Pittsburgh. Dambrot has never led the Dukes to either the NCAA or NIT in his time on the bluff. Keith is now 65 and retirement is likely getting closer.

Yes, Dambrot has certainly been a disappointment, since he left Akron.
Probably time for them to move on, especially with all their older players.
They would need to rebuild next season regardless.

The talk and rumor preseason is that he would retire after this season.
Still 14 games to go and the all important A10 Tournament that separates the men from the boys. Just playing for Seeding now.

All that the games told me last night is that this conference is WIDE OPEN.

Holmes is a stud but the supporting cast doesn’t make them 2020’s Dayton. They very easily could’ve lost last night despite the final score. St Louis looked very bad and missed a lot of wide open shots.

Richmond playing a team without their only good player and they probably should’ve lost.

One game at a time, but top to bottom this conference is mediocre.

Dayton isn’t mediocre at al. They’re clear and above the rest of the conference.

No need to compare them to the 2020.

Holmes is a borderline All American and most likely an NBA player.

Multiple double digit scorers, talent up and down the roster.

They’re a very, very good team and the clear favorite to win the regular season and conference tourney.

It is wide open. Which makes for a great A10 Tournament in Brooklyn
Dayton struggled at home against a mediocre St Louis team (8-8).
Richmond should have lost last night. Some very questionably calls in the last minute of the game.
Anything can happen in Brooklyn!! Anything! Somebody's going home with the AQ and a whole bunch of teams will be saying "Why Not Us?"

Fair points, and all those things can be true. But they’re far from unbeatable.

The comparison to 2020 is meant as a “2020’s team was undefeated, and this team isn’t going undefeated” comparison.

They may have the best player in the conference, and potentially the best team overall, but they can be beaten.

Traditionally it’s 15 wins to a conference title.

This team would surprise me if they go 15-3 based on how they played last night.

St Louis is not very good and just missed wide open shot after wide open shot. A better team than StL (of which there are many in conference) will catch them, especially on the road.

The Richmond win at Duquesne was another travesty of A-10 officiating. Duquesne had a 4 point lead and the ball with less than two minutes when a series of questionable calls gave Richmond the chance to tie game on four FT's. Admittedly Duquesne choked on last second FT's to tie, but they should never have been in that position in the first place. There was Mooney being very vocal with officials when his team was getting all the breaks.

Agree Obadiah.
I watched the entire game. The last two minutes were not the referee’s best. Dambrot did great to avoid getting a technical or getting thrown out.
The last foul when Richmond wrapped up Duquesne’s shooter was bad since he was going in for a high percentage shot. It sure looked like an intentional foul to me and if it wasn’t then I don’t know what one is. Richmond got away with one there.
If it was intentional would Duquesne have gotten the 2 FTs and the ball? I’m thinking they would have kept the ball.

All three games tonight should be close and possibly come down to the wire.

Fordham has Rivera back and Medor has been playing at a high level.

Still not sure if Cross will be available for UMass, if he is, him and Alson will be a fun match-up.

Gotta give Loyola the edge here.
UMass even more thin now, Loyola definitely has the depth advantage.

UConn at home vs. Creighton tonight. In honor of their first #1 ranking in 15 years, it's $2 beer night at Gampel.

Can we do that?

They are solid, no doubt. Imagine a back-to-back natty? Very rare air these days, let alone in the past!

$2 beer night for UConn as students are back on campus. They do it one game a season.

No reason why we can’t do that for a game a year.

Thanks Ramster.

I think this game should be entertaining.

VCU has won 2 in a row and now with Bam and Bairstow available and settled in, they can be dangerous and make some noise.
They have 10 players that have averaged over 15 minutes and all can make an impact.

SLU can also surprise some people.
They have center Ezewiro recently eligible and now averaging 14 pts/7.5 rebs.
Previous leading scorer Sincere Parker has just returned, and he should give them a big lift.
