It’s funny bc English is moreso known as an offensive coach. Carter is elite and guys like Gaines, Oduro, Floyd are all above average. That is going to keep them in games all year. I still think they have offensive shortcomings but their defense is likely going to be good enough to overcome that most nights.

The real assessment for English comes next year bc he stepping into a really strong roster with some continuity and leaders in place.
Seen some tweets from KMAC that they're involved with a couple big time, blue chip prospects, bigger than most of Cooley's recruits.

Top 10 kid from the class of 2025, and Top 40ish. Can't remember names.

Both could reclassify into 2024.

Oswin Erhunmwunse - top 40 big man
Joson Sanon - top 15 wing from Fall River

Both will be tough to land

Looking at their games pkLayed.1 true road game..2 neutral court....wow nice schedule if you can get it
Cmon. Are schedule is a complete joke. They are beating a top 10 team and we are talking about trying to get “big” wins over New Hampshire and Northeastern. They get big wins every year and we unfortunately never do

The Dayton Oakland game didn't have their first stoppage of play until 10:26 left in the first half! Never seen it go that long before a TV timeout before.

Impressive about the St Louis loss was the play of newly activated Bradley Ezewiro via the new ruling on transfer eligibility
24 minutes
6-8 FG, 6-7 FT for 18 points
9 rebounds

Jimerson had an abnormal game playing 35 min but only 7 points on 1-8 FG, 0-5 3P ----that is not going to happen often

Jyare Davis, the transfer from PC, played very well against URI and had another big night tonight vs Rider.
40 minutes
8-17 FG, 11-12 FT, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals

Rider was hot going 7-14 3P for 50% and 17-19 FT for 89.5%
Rider out-rebounded Delaware 36-23
TJ Weeks, transfer from UMASS had 9 points and 8 rebounds for Rider

C of C is -1.5 over St Joseph's. St Joe's looked powerful in their win over 83-58 win over Iona last Saturday At UBS Arena. St Joseph's was very quick. Several good shooters and play tenacious defense. St Joseph's hit 15-30 3Ps vs Iona Saturday. Reynolds hit 6-8 and brown hit 5-9. Rahseer Fleming looked strong, quick and improved from last season while Kacper Klaczek looked significantly improved as well..
77, you and I have been commenting on the talent Billy Lange has been accumulating the past 2 years and he has also kept key players from transferring. Lange has brought in some good freshmen to go with the returning core. Wouldn't be surprised to see St Joseph's win this game decisively.

UMASS vs Georgia Tech is a good one with UMASS favored by 1.5. Winner plays the winner of Portland - Hawaii. Other 4 teams are TCU, Old Dominion, Temple and Nevada.
UMASS (6-2) beat West Virginia last game 87-79 led by their big men. Josh Cohen 6'10" 220 lb had 19P/7R while Matt Cross 6'7" 230 lb had 13P/13R. Freshman Robert Davis Jr 6'6" went 6-8 3P in 17 minutes for 18 points off the bench.

Interesting is that Tafara Gapare 6'9" 206 lb Sophomore for Ga Tech transferred from UMASS this season. Gapare had a breakout game last game in a 82-81 OT win one Penn State. Gapare came off the bench playing 28 minutes, 7-16 FG, 3-6 3P, 3-4 FT for 20 points plus 6 rebounds.

Northwestern crushed Az. St. last night. Always interesting to see what's going on with OOC teams we've played this year. What's going on at Az. St.? Bobby on the hot seat this year?

Yes Ramster, remember when Lange's seat was getting very warm after a couple of seasons.
He then gets a top recruiting class and was rewarded with a contract extension.

They have a nice balance of youth and veterans, along with plenty of talent and size.
They are definitely contenders this season.

At the UBS arena, their freshman big Essandoko was wearing a boot.
Talking to some of their fans they said some days he is available and other days he is resting.
They do have other options so no need to rush him.

Have to be impressed by the frontcourt at UMass with Cohen and Cross, putting up impressive numbers.
Diggins and Thompson also look solid in the backcourt.
They have 4 freshmen averaging 15+ minutes/game.

A big part of recruiting these days is holding on to your good players. Eric Reynolds could have played most anywhere. Lange is recruiting and holding on to Philly kids.

Exactly, Reynolds returning was huge along with Cam Brown and Fleming who are also very key pieces, even Klaczek.

I keep saying how important it is for programs, especially those like us, to return core players.

Plus he got Lynn Greer III to transfer back home to Philly after his Freshman year at Dayton. Players come for the Head Coach and they stay (or don’t stay) for the Head Coach. Lange recruiting, and retaining and building a core with Philly kids.

ASU was never going to be an easy gig.
This is his 9th season, and his total conference record is 71-76.
He has yet to get further than the round of 64 in the NCAAT.

It Isn't going to get any easier for him and ASU going into the top basketball conference B12 in 24-25.

I always liked Bobby and hope he does succeed.

Little bit of David Cox in him? Did fairly well with inherited players but starting to lose it once they leave and the roster becomes more his own?

Well Kansas turned up the heat defensively and now lead Yale 51-43 7:46 left

Still, Yale had a lead around the 11 minute mark and had led them for 20 minutes.

We still saw much better ball movement with the four guards in.

Surprised no one has really shouted Always out, he lowkey had his best game. Showed he can score if he tries and I like how he pushes the pace.

With four guards we spaced the floor out so much better and had easier looks at the basket. You just get better matchups that way.

You aren't clogging the lane for House, Zek and Luis and there will be more open 3's for Weston, Zek, Cam and Dubs (if he plays)

I dont think anyone in the A-10 plays with two bigs anyway, so I don't see anybody tormenting us with size. Bilau can match up with any of them and Fou, Fuchs and Brown have a better chance one on one than they do bunched up down low with another big. It'll keep us from attempting all those awful post entry passes that have led to a million opponent lay ups this year.
New Hampshire started 3 Forwards and 2 Guards. We seemed to struggle with our 4 G line up with defense and rebounding late in the 2nd half due to the Forwards imbalance.
Northeastern starts 4 Guards so we should match up height wise and defensively better vs NE.

Is there a bus trip being set up for that last game of the year? There has to be, right? (Asking for a friend)

Actually URI is 4-7 NET 253 (the Johnson & Wales game doesn’t count) and Fordham is 5-7 NET 237

Had not heard about a bus yet, but it’s still early
