I hope Fleming has a top RB on speed dial. You know, someone dominant like Kevin Brown Jr. I'm not asking for much.

No surprise, AJ Peña is entering the portal. I’d expect Buchanan to join as well. Fleming has his work cut out for him.

Yeah this sucks. We're just the minor leagues grooming kids to get to big time college football. Great for the kids though. Grab that NIL money.

Most aren’t getting NIL money. AJ Cornelius and probably Antonio Carter, yes. Most think their talent is greater than their ability. Of the 3 DL transfers from last season, 2 went G-5 schools as backups, and the other paid to walk on at FSU to never play. The grass may be greener for some but not most. For better or worse this is college football.

Best news in a long time. I hate to admit this, but I kind of got a little emotional for a second there when I read this. I got a little misty eyed, I'm not going to lie.

These 2 All Conference Performers are transferring to URI as GRAD Transfers with 1 year of eligibility remaining

Arsheen Jiles, a senior defensive back from Montclair, N.J., recorded another impressive season for the Pioneers this fall. He has earned back-to-back year-end recognition from the NEC, but his first First Team selection. Jiles finished within the top five in the league in passes defended behind seven pass breakups and one interception. He forced a team-leading two fumbles this season while recovering one fumble against Merrimack. He also tallied 38 tackles and one sack.

Carson Primrose, a senior defensive lineman from Pittsburgh, Pa., was a big part of the Pioneers' defensive line success this season. For the second straight year, Primrose was selection to the Second Team. Playing in all 12 games, Primrose finished the fall campaign with 45 tackles, 2.0 sacks, and 5.5 tackles-for-loss. His two sacks, including one against Yale, ranked him second on the team, while his 5.5 tackles for loss put him third on the team.

So far... we're not doing too bad. Pena staying was absolutely humongous, pass rushers like that do not grow on trees.

And the three pick ups from Sacred Heart look really good.

DB Kam Snell (Owings Mills, Md./Good Counsel) – the redshirt junior earned All-PSAC West honors for the first time after leading the team and tying for the PSAC lead in interceptions with five, good for 60 yards. He finished with 46 tackles from his safety position, with 2.5 TFL, with six passes broken up, a pair of forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. He is tied for second in the PSAC in passes defended with 11. Snell had two interceptions at Seton Hill and returned an interception 16 yards for the winning touchdown against Clarion. He started all 11 games and now has 32 career starts.

Coming to us from Division 2 Gannon of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference

Gregory Gaines III
Wide Receiver
Tampa, Fla. | Iowa State
6-3 | 205
Three years of eligibility | Lead Recruiter: Mike Flanagan | Video
A four-star recruit coming out of Tampa Bay Tech, Gaines saw action at receiver and on special teams for Iowa State. A member of the Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team and a Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient, Gaines made nine appearances. He is the second Cyclone to transfer to Rhode Island, joining running back Deon Silas. At 6-3 and 205 pounds, he adds quality on the outside with sprinter speed. As a sophomore in high school, he ran 11.76 in the 100.

Malik Grant
Running Back
Bronx, N.Y. | Sacred Heart
5-9 | 190
One year of eligibility | Lead Recruiter: Mike Flanagan | Video
An All-Northeast Conference selection for Sacred Heart, Grant will be a talented addition to the Rams' backfield. The Bronx, N.Y. native had a highly-decorated career with the Pioneers, highlighted by a Hero Sports FCS Third Team All-American selection in 2021. A finalist for the Walter Payton Award and team captain, he rushed for 3,310 yards in five seasons with SHU. He logged 27 rushing touchdowns to go along with four receiving.

Shawn Harris, Jr.
Wide Receiver
Mt. Vernon, N.Y. | UMass
5-9 | 170
One year of eligibility | Lead Recruiter: Chris Bergeski | Video
No stranger to CAA Football, Harris began his career at Stony Brook, where he recorded 67 receptions for 1,104 yards in four seasons. In his lone campaign with the Minutemen, he appeared on both offense and special teams, catching 16 passes for 152 yards while recording six kick returns for 100 yards. No stranger to success, Harris led his high school team, Archbishop Stepinac, to three NYCHSFL AAA Championship titles.

Arsheen Jiles
Defensive Back
Montclair, N.J. | Sacred Heart
5-9 | 185
One year of eligibility | Lead Recruiter: Brandon Napoleon | Video
A two-time All-NEC selection for the Pioneers, Jiles finished within the top five in the league in passes defended with seven pass breakups and one interception. He forced a team-best two fumbles in 2023 while recovering one against Merrimack. Jiles finished his senior season with 38 tackles and one sack and will add a veteran presence to the defensive back position.

Aboraa Kwarteng
Wide Receiver
Alexandria, Va. | Sacred Heart
6-2 | 190
Two years of eligibility | Lead Recruiter: Chris Bergeski | Video
A Virginia native, Kwarteng saw his production steadily increase in two years at Sacred Heart and will look to continue the momentum in Kingston. After a true freshman season that saw him record 117 receiving yards on 10 catches, he increased his numbers as a sophomore by more than double, with 43 receptions for 472 yards. His lone career touchdown came in a game against Central Connecticut, when he secured a 17-yard strike that proved to be the game-winner in the fourth quarter.

Sam Ofurie
Linebacker
Salem, Mass. | Garden City Community College
6-2 | 230
Two years of eligibility | Lead Recruiter: Chris Lorenti | Video
A New England native, Ofurie spent his freshman fall at fellow conference team North Carolina A&T before transferring to Garden City Community College. The team's second-leading tackler in 2023, Ofurie recorded 49 stops with 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery. With 7.5 total TFLs, he highlighted his ability to get to the ball quickly. In high school, Ofurie played a key role in IMG Academy's first-ever national championship under head coach Bob Acosta.

Carson Primrose
Defensive Lineman
Pittsburgh, Pa. | Sacred Heart
6-1 | 280
One year of eligibility | Lead Recruiter: Brandon Napoleon | Video
Primrose was a two-time All-NEC selection for the Pioneers, capturing Second Team honors in each of the last two seasons. He appeared in all 12 of the team's games in 2023, anchoring a defensive line that helped the team finish second in the league in scoring defense (24.7 points per game). As a senior, he recorded 45 tackles, two sacks, and 5.5 TFLs.

Kam Snell
Defensive Back
Owings Mills, Md. | Gannon University
5-10 | 200
One year of eligibility | Lead Recruiter: Brandon Napoleon | Video
A standout player for Gannon University, Snell brings great hands and experience to the Rhody secondary. He made 35 career appearances for the NCAA Division II program, finishing his tenure with 108 tackles and 21 passes defended. All five of his career interceptions were recorded in his final campaign, one of which was a game-winning pick-6 against Clarion that earned him PSAC Defensive Athlete of the Week honors. Snell played against former Ram and star running back Ja'Den McKenzie when he was at conference foe West Chester.

So is this URI football rebuilding or restocking? To me, the latter means this is a team that will continue to win more than they lose. Do we have the next QB to lead us to the playoffs. Biggest question by far. This program has shown it can bring in new players for the open positions. I wouldn’t say QB, seeing they brought in Hill but it’s so tough to bring in the game changing QB and I’m not sure if they what have I house will fit the bill.

The little I saw of Farrell this season... I liked.

In this age of the NCAA, where everyone leaves if they don't get what they want, the fact that Farrell is still here tends to make me think the starting job is his.

Could be worse. Could be like New Hampshire, where Max Brosmer left for Minnesota. He was their entire offense.

Since Hill didn't lead the team to the playoffs his staying only delayed development of next QB
