Obadiah wrote:Interesting development RG2, increasing the number of seats you want can be a problem, but I would guess less so since you moved up on priority points. So the only explanation to your problem is that current season ticket holders with higher priority than you are buying more seats or are moving from another section of arena to 205.
Maybe a migration from other sections? I think you are right.

Dear Rod,
My last post was not intended as a knock, but a joke on me! It's been nearly two weeks since I've posted, because I got so ticked off about the re-seating etc., -- AND I DON'T EVEN HAVE SEASON TICKETS ANYMORE! Anyway, I wish you -- and everyone else -- good luck in trying to get everything squared!!!!!

Rhodygirl2 wrote:Well that didn't go as well as I'd hoped - we need 4 together this year so in 205 we had to go to row G to get it. There were a few lower rows with 2 together in 205, my old seats in row B and a few in C and E but that's it.

A lot of 205 was taken, even all the way to the top on the aisles, I'm a little skeptical of this process now since I actually doubled my donation last year, moved up significantly in the selection order and still the heart of 205 was taken already....
So RhodyGIrl2, was 205 especially packed compared to the matching section(s) across the way? I do agree it's the best section, so I'm hoping I can sneak in with just 2 seats required. I'm sure I'll get a pair in 205, but it will be quite interesting to see just where.

I think you are probably right that those in the first wave ($1,000 and over) were able to buy a maximum of between 8 ($10k+) and 4 (1k+) tix. I bet quite a few purchased an additional seat or more compared to years past.

When I picked and got the seats in 205 last night, I think 212 looked the same - you had start a few rows back at least. I know I checked just to see if I could get one of the first rows there and switch. 205 had a higher % gone but 212 definitely wasn't wide open. I also checked 204 and 206 and could get in row A there but far in, closer to the basked. I chose to go higher in 205 since that's what I'm used to.

ATP - seats in your row were fine when I picked - G and higher had a bunch, just the aisles for each row were pretty much taken. Also there were a handful of good spots for 2 together, including the ones I abandoned in B. Good luck!

Just an update. I was just in selecting my seats. I stayed up in 307 row A so I didn't take any seats most of you want. Anyway those that are looking for 205 or 212 the pickings are getting slim. Section 205 had only the last 4 rows open. Section 212 had only the last 2 rows full to pick from and half of the 3rd to last row. They are selling seats in the 100's sideline. They all had low availability. So I guess students are staying in the endzone of the 100's. I honestly didn't think to look at what things were like there. I did glance at sections 204 and 206. Almost all of those 2 sections remained available.

I was in section 205 last season. I had 3 seats last year. This year I selected on 8/1 6:05 pm. Because I have a lot of additional interest from people in my family and other friends to watch rhody play this year I decided to get 1 additional seat. So now I will still be in 205, 1 row closer. So I would say the theory about people getting extra seats is correct. I was surprised to see how full the section was when I was selecting. There is no doubt it is the best section in the building

C'mon, ATP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"The numbers don't lie. $$$$$$$$ talks. Anyway, "Re-seating" is the new reality. Get used to it. You may triple or even quadruple your donation, and get even worse seats next year! Be thankful!! Just ask Roadyjay," and you can read all of my other posts about this topic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why would you be worried? Why would anyone be worried?
I've got nothing to be worried about anymore, because Coach Hurley tweeted his thanks concerning the Italy trip and my comment was:
P.S. THANK YOU, COACH HURLEY!!!!!!!!!! Article-readers, nacho-lovers, and souvenir-buyers are validated!!!!!!
It's the Masersati Moment, ATP……Much better than anything in Section 205…...

In the past, the "re-seating" has been done every three years.......For what it is worth, we are a small donor, and was assigned the same seats as we previously had.

Blue Man...

Are you apologizing because you will be loud? I had a couple behind me in 205 last year tell me to sit down because I stood and cheered for 2 seconds after a Hare dunk. I had to move out of those seats. I don't go to games to sit and be quiet.

And why do you say you're welcome? LoL

I'm apologizing because I plan to be myself at games. This will leave some of the elderly uneasy about their surroundings. And I will certainly tell anybody that tells me to sit down after a Hare dunk to go watch the game on their couch where there aren't any other people (in so many words).

I'm saying you're welcome because I plan to be myself at games. Which from what I've been told is entertaining.

^preach. the more of us, the less that anyone complains, the better atmosphere there is.

Plus in convos I've had with some of the department people, they're going to be addressing how they treat rowdy fans this season aka, giving actual sports fans leeway when they're at a sporting event instead of catering to the silent crowd.

Let's take back the RC this year, for the love of God.

Let's get draconian and ban the stragglers who come in after
the National Anthem, or not letting them go to their seats until a timeout.
How about the rude jerks who decide to stop and talk to a pal during the game, while standing up, blocking the view?
Do that at half time.
I've often sat near fans who don't know squat about our team, and talk
about everything BUT the game all night.
It's the game that matters, not the giveaways.
Last year, I really wondered at times if that was the case with
some of our fans. Going apeshit over some crappy T-shirts, or whatever,
like they were giving out gold.

I'm 56 and my voice is hoarse after games. And Blue Man, I remember after one game when Marquis Jones won at the buzzer, you were running all over the court high fiveing everyone. I was one of them. I came down to the court to get one. I don't think I'm elderly yet, but I'll be screaming at games until I am no longer able to do so.

HAHAH Bressler... You always make me laugh on here.

So I was relieved to see that there were plenty of seats left in 205, including my seats from last year. However, I decided to move one row closer (H) to increase our chances of catching the all-important PAAARRRAAACHUUUUUTE DROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPP!! Just kidding. Actually wanted to be within talking distance of my pal and Section 205 newcomer, Blue Man.

So 205 has 5 seats left in Row H (closer to 206), and row J has maybe 10 seats free. Rows higher than J are essentially wide open.

Strangely, there were maybe 15 or so seats available in 104, which I believe are the same price bracket. I was very tempted since that's where I enjoyed 5 seasons of Rhody Hoops, but 205 is just ideal given the amenities and concourse.

Online system worked as the instructions depicted. Good luck everyone!

BlueMan - I'm with you in row G of 205 - closer to 206. And my expansion to 4 seats was to bring my brother and his friend down from the 300s and they will certainly be loud. And obnoxious.

ATP -nice to hear you were able to stay in 205 and come down a few rows.

I had a running commentary going just during the open practice - I'm sure the people around me thought I was nuts.

So RhodyGirl, you may be right in front of me? I'm seats 19-18 I think in row G. Did BlueMan say he was closer to the 204 side? Seats 10-13 or something?

I think I learned that the Ryan Center has no row "I" since with sans-serif fonts, it would likey be confused with "1".

I arranged with ticketing to do my re-seating by proxy since I had questions about ADA seating.....I had two season tickets for the past several years in the ADA section in 206 and I needed to add 1 more ADA section seat and 4 other season tickets, increasing me from 2 season tickets to 7 season tickets this year....they offered to do it by proxy because I could not get 7 ADA section tickets in 206.....for various reasons 206 is the absolute best section for my needs....so I could get 3 there because that was all that was available....and my other choices were the row in front of the ADA row in 206...so I think I have 3 in 206 ADA and 4 in 206 row J but I don't know how to confirm that yet....

If someone who hasn't had season tickets before or in a long time decides to jump on the bandwagon and wants good seats, they have two options:
1. Donate money
2. Call a friend who has season tickets and piggyback on them.
I think there's bit of number 2 going on. In this way, they circumvent the reseating system. So it's possible people are losing their seats to a new season ticket holder who doesn't donate money.
Just a thought.

So basically what we're establishing is that 205 is going to become a section for actual fans. LOVE IT.

BillyBoy...elderly is a state of mind...certainly not an actual age.

I remember watching that basket fall in and next thing i knew i was the tip of a spear that ran through the dayton bench and remember picking up jimmy baron in a hug. Best game I've ever watched during the blue man era, lol sad that it peaked in a regular season game against the #26 game in the country...but something tells me that we'll have bigger games soon.

And yeah iggy my parents piggy backed on me, so I added seats to my plan - but they were already season ticket holders, so I don't know that anybody lost out to them.

Hi Rod, how are you able to check in advance what seats are available before your scheduled time comes? Are you sure you're not logging into the "test and practice" environment?

I don't believe you are able to view the available seats using the seat map in advance of your scheduled selection time.
