What happened to building for the future with freshmen and transfers with 3 years left to play? Philosophy has changed a lot from 6 months ago. Probably a good thing the philosophy changed but 6 months ago we never would have been filling the roster with transfers with 3 years and 25 year olds.
Whatever gets us in the Top Tier of the A10 and ability to win the A10 Championship AQ. Just surprised at the change of direction.

Smart, introspective coaching staff. They periodically re-evaluate the track they are on and make adjustments when and where necessary to reach their ultimate goal. Excellent example of the adapt and overcome mindset.
Archie is going to tell us that the plan is to do whatever he is able to do to put together the best team he can. That is the plan! That there is some other master plan is just coach-speak.

I agree. I think that was the plan from Day 1, which is fine. Put the best team possible on the floor each year.
HC and Staff need to adjust to the significant changing parameters of the game that include:
NIL
Extra Covid Year that impacts 4 years of College Basketball
Grad Transfer with immediate eligibility (and there are now more Grad Transfers with the Extra Covid Year Change

Noticed that too, definitely better than what his stats show. Hope we get him. Also I think Archie caught onto Rhode Island fans looking at his following and just stopped following transfers he’s recruiting

He played on a very deep Baylor backcourt behind Cryer, Flagler, and George and was never able to be the guy.
He is from Cleveland, not sure why he would come here and don't see an obvious connection.

Gansett was on fire yesterday. Town beach was packed like a day in August. Scarborough Beach lot was completely full with cars waiting to get in. Crazy!!!!!

They were always treated by the schools as assets to create money. The only difference is now the money to the athletes is more widespread and now it's all out in the open as opposed to in sealed envelopes

But it’s not at all tied to their value as revenue generators, as it should be, and is legalized pay for play at some levels. Again I don’t think that impacts us at all bc the seven figure Collectives are exclusively at the top of food chain where we have never been.

As NIL stabilizes, I would like to think future movement gets a little more limited. So many schools are just starting to figure out collectives/endorsements, while other ones are hitting players with virtually a blank check book. Those guys will always exist, and there will always be a gap there, but as recently as a few weeks ago, people were saying FAU, entering the tournament, had $0 NIL. Schools like that need to figure it out. Can't throw kids a $1,000 hat deal and think it's all good.
The new transfer rules and NIL/collectives are two giant shocks to the system all while athletes have an extra Covid year. We're getting to the point where the extra Covid year is phasing out, and just like every other shock to the system these two will eventually level out. People have been freaking out way too much based on a very small snapshot in time

Good for Nahiem. The St. John’s roster is still coming together, but he has a very good chance to start. He played way fewer minutes this past season at UConn than he did in each of his years at Virginia Tech. He accepted his role and was an important piece in winning a championship. It was a great fit for a season, and everyone won.

Wyoming transfer Graham Ike has committed to Gonzaga, he told ESPN. Missed this last season with a lower right leg injury, but was the preseason Mountain West Player of the Year in the fall after averaging 19.5 points and 9.6 rebounds in 2021-22. Top 25 player in the portal.
