Listed at 7'3".
Not sure how talented he is, but at worst he can protect the rim. Looks like he needs to add some strength and weight.
Reminds me a little of when we went after Naheem Mcleod.

Kids this big are usually rockstars or busts, very few cases of that physical profile translating to an average talent

Re: General Visits/transfer recruiting
See: Blake Vedder, who resurfaced at Kent State following his Rhody stint and multiple junior college years, and he still made pretty much no impact. I imagine that once you get to a certain size, it's pretty hard to improve your foot speed, and if you can't defend out to the 3-point line teams are just going to roast you in pick-and-roll situations.KingstonLane wrote: ↑1 year agoKids this big are usually rockstars or busts, very few cases of that physical profile translating to an average talent

To me, DeMarr Langford would make much more sense if we did not already sign Jaden House.
Any other guard we sign would need to be a shooter in my opinion....

This kid looks like a house. Know nothing about him, but wouldn’t mind taking a look at this guy.

I liked him since we first offered. Still has 3 years with plenty of upside.

Good eye for talent there, Jersey.
I like 3 yrs of eligibility remaining. Would be a very nice addition. Good piece to add with Bilau - whenever healthy - Brown and Foumena. Plus have Rory who adds the 3 point threat dimension.
Big T gets lost in the shuffle unless Bilau has a setback, I think.
Coupled with consistent backcourt and wing scoring, that is a front court Archie can win with in the A10, I believe.
Go Rhody!

Re: General Visits/transfer recruiting
By next week we could have commitments from Buru, Kortright, and of course Always Wright.
These 3 will fill out our roster, at least for now with no more changes.
At this point, I don't feel confident about Pride, have a feeling he is BE bound.
Hopefully that statement doesn't age well.

Heard nothing about Pride recently but at the same time his visit was this weekend for Xavier and I’ve seen a tweet about the Xavier staff going to visit Abou in Texas tomorrow so who knowsJersey77 wrote: ↑1 year ago By next week we could have commitments from Buru, Kortright, and of course Always Wright.

I think Always and Luis are the same position
And I’ve heard Always might be an Art Harris v2 situation

Always is much more of an outside shooting threat, although still young and raw.Dino611 wrote: ↑1 year agoHeard nothing about Pride recently but at the same time his visit was this weekend for Xavier and I’ve seen a tweet about the Xavier staff going to visit Abou in Texas tomorrow so who knowsJersey77 wrote: ↑1 year ago By next week we could have commitments from Buru, Kortright, and of course Always Wright.

Kortright more seasoned, tougher, and better on defense.
I wouldn't be surprised if Archie takes both.
I didn't hear anything about possible academic issues with him but he may qualify after 1 year of Juco.
If there is an issue with that, don't see Archie taking a chance on him.

Re: General Visits/transfer recruiting
It's not necessary to take a player if there is any doubt they are going to show up for the first semester. Not in this climate, with free agency.
All that person does is become a distraction in that case.
Archie doesn't take both? I wouldn't cry if he took neither. PC and the upper 70% of our conference wouldn't even be looking at some of these players.

Re: General Visits/transfer recruiting
Well duh. The best transfers aren’t transferring to worse schools

Re: General Visits/transfer recruiting
Tell that to people who think the transfer policy was going to help the mid majors. Some felt that transferring would be good for the A10 and other Mid Major Conferences. Players from the P6 Schools would transfer to the Mid Majors and make them better.
Haven't you read comments to that effect KingtownLane?
Do you, KingstownLane, think Covid 5th year, No Sit Out Penalty for Transfers and NIL have benefited P6 schools more, Mid majors more or all is great and benefits have been evenly distributed?

Re: General Visits/transfer recruiting
Exactly. And the worse schools are losing their best players to the Better Schools. Low Mid Majors are getting hit the worst, Mid majors next worst and P6 Schools are cleaning up.
The Rich are getting Richer. Which was the Cartel Plan all along. NIL payouts are not going to get smaller.

Re: General Visits/transfer recruiting
Free transfer rule goes both ways. But for the sake of this ranking it will always be P6 schools ranked high getting their best players. What it does do though is allow any team to rebuild faster on the flyramster wrote: ↑1 year agoTell that to people who think the transfer policy was going to help the mid majors. NIL was never meant to help mid majors. It was created to get players their fair value instead of the school milking their likeness for money. Covid 5th year will be over shortly

1. Covid 5th year
2. Portal making it simple and easy to Transfer
3. No Sit Out penalty to Transfer
4. NIL
5. P5 Conferences going to 20 and 22 games to reduce Mid Major games
6. NCAA developing own Ranking System - NET
Do you think any of these 6 changes have benefitted Mid Majors or Low mid Majors versus P5 Teams?
And do you think any of these 6 changes have hurt Mid Majors and Low Mid Majors versus P5 Teams?
And are any or all of the 6 changes basically no effect?

And Princeton made the sweet 16
Saint Peter's made the elite 8 last year
Oral Roberts was in the sweet 16 two years ago
There's more parity than ever!

So you are saying all is well?
Or are you saying Mid Majors are benefitting more from the changes?
Overall I am talking about, not one-offs. What do you think?

The problem is a mid major may go on a nice March run but can they turn that into several before being raided? Can a new Gonzaga happen in this environment?

Re: General Visits/transfer recruiting
And P6 schools are almost always getting the top ranked recruits to. This is nothing new. The best players go to the best programs.
