I kind of want to see what Rose Hill is like tonight sold out vs UMass.

Amazing how much Brendan Adams has improved. Aside from playing an under control solid point guard , he had 9 threes in GW’s dbl ot win over Richmond.
Wish he never followed Hurley to UConn.

LaSalle wins at Bona. I am surprised at the result but, that said, it’s the 3rd win a row for LaSalle.

GM lost ugly at Duquesne 52-75.
Victor Bailey their 2nd leading scorer averaging about 12 pts was out with a hand injury.
Not sure if he will be available against us.
Let's see which GM team shows up on Saturday same can be said for us.

Re: 2022-23 Men's Games of Interest
That result is probably not good for URI's seeding as it has increased the odds that the Explorers may finish ahead of Rhody. LaSalle would be the #9 seed and avoid the PIG round if the season ended today. They are also now #231 in the NET after winning on the road at SBU. URI is presently only three spots ahead of them at #228. Loyola still maintains its grip on the A-10's worst NET ranking at #275.

Looks like a blowout win for Dayton. Up by 17 late 2nd half from a 7 point lead at half time.
Dayton jumps up to 2nd place with a half game lead over SLU in 3rd. Fordham hanging onto 4th a half game behind SLU.

6 A10 Games today on February 11.
Of the 12 A10 teams playing the best records are Fordham at 19-5 and Duquesne at 16-8. The other 10 teams are around .500 or below.
Fordham had Kyle Neptune for 1 year and now Keith Urgo in his 1st year.

Duq and Fordham win. Real good road win for Fordham at Davidson as they maintain their hold on 4th place (or, they may be in 3rd due to tiebreaker).
La Salle keeps winning. Four game winning streak.

Fordham with their 1st 20-win season in 32 years.
They also won 7 of their last 8 games.
Too early, but maybe Keith Urgo for A10 COY.

Duquesne wins 3rd straight, now 7-5, 17-8. Big win against St Bonaventure today
5th in A10
Picked to finish last in A10 preseason
Keith Dambrot in the running for COY too
Next few weeks will be fun in this race for the Top 4 Seeds

I am going to root for Loyola to pull the road upset because UMass is closer to passing us in the standings. Hopefully, UMass isn’t at full strength.

Re: 2022-23 Men's Games of Interest
In our league that’s a fallacy.
Can you assemble a 1 year wonder roster, sure maybe.
But you aren’t building a sustainable A10 winner by reinventing the roster every year. This isn’t the SEC. We don’t get pick of the litter.

Are we sure you can even build a "one year wonder" roster in the A10?Rhody15 wrote: ↑1 year agoIn the A10, yes completely agree.bigappleram wrote: ↑1 year agoIn our league that’s a fallacy.

Re: 2022-23 Men's Games of Interest
Highlighted teams are in the running for Top 4 A10 Tournament seeds as all having above .500 A10 records at this time
Duquesne has won 3 straight games
LaSalle has won 4 straight games to move to 6-6. They started slow at 2-6. A win at home tonight over Richmond puts them above .500.

Re: 2022-23 Men's Games of Interest
That’s kinda what Duquesne did (10 new players - top 6 scorers are transfers in their 4th or 5th year). So hypothetically they could all leave this year and Dambrot will have to do that again. It’s sorta like a Prep School coach who reinvents his roster every year.NYGFan_Section208 wrote: ↑1 year agoAre we sure you can even build a "one year wonder" roster in the A10?Rhody15 wrote: ↑1 year agoIn the A10, yes completely agree.bigappleram wrote: ↑1 year ago

Similar concept to what Kentucky does - except with McDonalds AAs that are one and done.bigappleram wrote: ↑1 year agoThat’s kinda what Duquesne did (10 new players - top 6 scorers are transfers in their 4th or 5th year). This year she brought in some good freshmen but the Transfers dominate the starting line up. Some good freshmen coming in next year but Tammi hits that Transfer portal hard.

Re: 2022-23 Men's Games of Interest
Oddly though, I think those two examples kind of illustrate why you still need to build conventionally. Duquesne is winning games against bad teams, but they're not going to the tournament unless they can win the A-10s. Kentucky has managed to right the ship as the season has gone on, but they're in the 40s in NET, and need to notch a few more wins to punch their ticket.Section104 wrote: ↑1 year agoSimilar concept to what Kentucky does - except with McDonalds AAs that are one and done.bigappleram wrote: ↑1 year agoThat’s kinda what Duquesne did (10 new players - top 6 scorers are transfers in their 4th or 5th year). I'm biased because they're in my backyard now, but Houston's top five in MPG were all recruited as high school freshmen. They have two transfers on the whole roster - One came this year and has logged 7 minutes so far, the other joined the team in 2020-21 after two years at Arkansas, and is in his third year at UH as a fifth-year player. He's played 22 games, 13.8 MPG. The best way to get elite, All-Conference type talent is probably still through HS recruits, whereas transferring is still more about filling holes or getting players with clear strengths - and weaknesses - in their game.

Re: 2022-23 Men's Games of Interest
When I think of "one year wonder", I'm thinking tourney team that I'll remember, not 7-5 record (that I had to go look up) team in "this" (crappy) A10... Davidson has had their struggles but so has St Louis at times
Duquesne and Fordham in interesting games
St Bonaventure might win at Fordham. And St Joseph's might win at Duquesne.
