He's going to be 23 by the time he's eligible for a draft, so unless he radically elevates his game and becomes a star, that's second round pick or undrafted free agent territory. Through three games, his rate stats are actually worse than last year - he's just playing a lot more minutes so far. I'd be shocked if he didn't get at least some summer league roster deals, given his bloodlines and that he played for Kentucky.

Watching the Mitchell brothers play tonight

Saw Makhel get called for an atrocious moving screen where he just rode a dude down the lane for no reason.

Then Makhi just had a one on one with a guy much smaller than him in the post...so naturally he turned around to try and cross him up and just dribbled it off his own foot

So uh not a lot has changed there.

Arkansas "only" won by 15, but they were up 20+ most of the second half, and ended up playing 15 guys between 2 and 33 minutes. So, tough to tell what their plans are for MPG for their forwards and centers, outside of Brazile. It seems like they're going to play four guards most of the time, with the Mitchells as options when opponents go bigger. It is surprising to see Makhi in there ahead of Makhel.

Maui Classic will be interesting for Arkansas and the Mitchell’s. Some tough early season competition.

In AP:
#9 - Arkansas
#10 - Creighton
#14 - Arizona
#17 - San Diego State
#23 - Texas Tech

Makhi started. Musselman never put them in together and I guess Makhi played okay. Pretty much the same. They'll sometimes make plays and then bonegeaded ones.

I'd say they have an excellent shot at beating Lville. By one.

It is sorta interesting that 2 different coaches (Turgeon & Musselman) never played them together and thought Makhi was more useful than Makhel.
Cox literally saw it opposite.

A little unfair since Makhi had a serious knee injury early in his first season and not at 100% when he returned the following season.

BTW: I never thought much of either because they were not team players.

I thought it was ACL and maybe more? It was a non-contact injury in the WKU game and then I thought Mama Mitchell tweeted about it.

Edit: R15 is right it was never confirmed what the exact injury was:

Bryant beats Detroit Mercy 98-88.
Walker has a double/double, 13 pts/10 rebs.
Bryant still without PG Chauncey Hawkins.

Bryant will score points, no doubt.

I wonder if Grasso studied under Paul Westhead?

Nice game for Walker. Hope he has a good year.

Thanks for the post, Jersey.

He hasn’t played in two years, and doesn’t have one game with Bryant, so I wouldn’t say they’re still without a kid who’s
Never played with them.

They’re starting PG now is the former 6th man from Richmond, and is absolutely killing it.

Bryant would challenge for a Top 4 seed in the A10 this year with the guys they got.

15, true he didn't play last season but was counted on for this season.
Even Rothstein had commented earlier to watch out for him as an impact player for Bryant.
In 20-21 he was All-NEC averaging 16 pts/4.4 assists.

I just posted that they were still without him so far.

Very sad news. Like his brother Stan, Jimmy was an all time great. He was a freshman coming off the bench for that great '78 team. Stan and Jimmy had very similar scoring totals at URI. Stan finished with 1346 points and Jimmy finished with 1333 points. Jimmy is also 8th all time in rebounds behind only Art Stephenson, Gary Koenig ,Antonio Reynolds-Dean, Kenny Green,Cyril Langevine , Kahiem Seawright and Hassan Martin. RIP Jimmy.

To me they both had very little impact vs Creighton and SDSU (good competition). Kind of just big bodies on the floor. We'll see what happens and if they develop.
