Only 1 starter scored and only 1 took FTs - what were the other 4 doing? IL State is not very good, so keep our projections for this year in perspective. So the game plan is to lull them asleep with our starters, then sneak attack with our bench. I hope Brandon is not slowing his full recovery by playing in garbage games.

I mentioned Bilau would eventually be our starting Center few weeks ago based on intel I was getting. I think you will start to see Thomas and Samb for spot minutes moving fwd and Bray and Bilau eating up all those minutes.

I’d be shocked if we don’t roll out a new lineup for BC.

Looking at the minutes distribution as opposed to who started you have the 4 starters you listed plus Stewart. My guess is Archie is not so concerned about who starts as KB is. Cox and even Hurley stayed with set lineups, but they also had a more clear starting 5. Archie appears much more flexible now as he looks to see what he has. Excellent strategy, giving everyone opportunities and eventually will narrow down minutes based on performance in games AND in practices where they track all practice statistics.

We’re starting to see a team. These guys are starting to get familiar with each other. They’re starting to fight for each other. The energy on the bench was awesome whether down or up.

These guys are getting better every single game. Archie is preaching accountability and following through. Taking guys out no matter who they are and coaching them on what they need to change.

Ish was clearly our best player all tournament - but even with a lead when he made a dumb pass into traffic he came out and got coached in what was needed. Same with Bray.

Speaking of - another great game. He still has some things to work on when he gets out of control and goes into the lane without a plan. But he’s got a ton of confidence and can create a lot out of nothing with his athleticism.

Rory Stewart. Awesome to see him step up. HUGE hustle plays, rebounds, low post defense, put backs, and a 3 pointer when we really needed it.

I’m so excited to see this team grow. We’re going to be good when we’re good, and that’ll be sooner rather than later. Travel safe Ram fans. See you in Kingston.

I just hope my voice comes back by next week.

Agree would like Carey to eat some minutes. And honestly I’d love Weston to eat some of Malik’s minutes at the 3 as long as our rebounding doesn’t suffer. Malik just doesn’t bring anything to us on offensive end unfortunately. Prob depends who is at the 4.

True, only 1 starter scored BUT the points were scored by 4 of the most minutes players. The most minutes players are the key guys today.

Interesting game as we lost in assists, steals, turnovers and blocks

But we crushed in total points, total rebounds and offensive rebounds

We crushed it in Coaching Today putting the right guys on the court for the most minutes. A team win! A confidence building win!

I agree. He does need to get better, but he's played well enough that he should have gotten some minutes. Maybe Rory is outplaying him at practice. Archie said in the postgame that Bilau hasn't practiced once. He was thrown into the fire. For someone that hasn't practiced, I thought he made a nice impact.

Small sample size so far against not great opponents in those early home games, but from what I’ve seen from him so far, I feel there’s a role for Tchikou this year and that he will be a contributor. There’s something there.

Carey's injury flared up again, which is why he's been out. This seems like an injury where he's going to be a game time decision a lot of games until he can rest up more in the exam/Christmas slow part of the season. No inside info, just what I'm seeing and a guess
