I know it is only one game, I know Archie has not had the chance to recruit yet, I know we have a lot of new players - all makes sense that we wouldn't look great. We are just a lot further off than I thought we would be. It is going to be a LONG season. The Bobcats are not that great, did not play that great and led us most of the game. The most concerning thing that I see is that our offense is back to the Baron high three man weave followed by one player jocking up a shot - usually not a good % shot. I dont see ball movement on offense at all, I do not see players moving to get open, nor do I see too much intensity on defense of on the bench, can't rebound, can't play D on the 3, cant make free throws, can't shoot, no defensive help... just a bad team. One game.... i will exhale but if this is what we are working with this season ugghhhh... As hard as it was to watch on TV, the PA announcer at the Ryan Center (at least on TV) is a super brand of annoying. We are still in this but more because Quinnipiac is not too good themselves.

Woof. I love Bassy but man he is not a starter in the A10. Nothing against him but his offensive game is non existent. Freeman showed me nothing. Out of control and shot was way off. Thank the lord for Martin, he’s the only one that can rebound. We’ll get there but it’s going to be a tough season IMO.

Without any kind of consistent three point shooting, half court offense will be a problem all season. Opponents will just pack the lane.

3 things to work on…
1) Stop giving up offensive rebounds…that was excruciating.
2) Shooting…maybe it’s just first game jitters, but that was a gross showing.
3) Figure our a way to get Bray and Weston involved in the game…without them clicking, we ain’t going anywhere.

Can anybody on this team shoot a basketball ? Some of the worst outside shooting I've seen since , well last year's team . They played hard , but they
can't put the ball in the hole again . I guess the odds makers didn't know what to expect either . I sincerely hope the shooting tonight was all about opening game jitters . If they shoot better the next game I will forgive them .

Thank goodness we still have some of Cox's recruits.
Archie's recruits were no-shows.
There is a rumor that STH's can bring 4 friends for free to the Texas State game.
As I said last year, Bassey needs to become at least a 65% FT shooter. He was our best player.
I guess the Pats-Colts game was more exciting.
The best part of year for being a URI basketball fan is over until March.

What scares me the most about this team is our best players were all Cox's players. I’m baffled about why Weston barely played. Especially when this team has no offensive weapons, he was rusty in the scrimmage in the first half, but once he got warm, he was the best player on the floor. We didn’t give him that opportunity tonight.

Bray was arguably our worst player.

Samb looked solid with some nice post moves and touch

Tchikou will be a monster in time

Lou is raw, but I like his size

Rory was fine. Missed some open 3s, but he’ll be a nice piece eventually

We’re going to lose a lot of games.

Need more Malik Martin solid player.

Need to find a sniper. Q just packed the defense. They should be strong in their league.

Pretty sloppy game but very well officiated.

Yorke is brutal. Give that job to EZ Buckets.
