Marques DeShields with 166 yards rushing and 95 yards receiving. He scored 4 Touchdowns!

The hit by Evan Stewart on Muskett on the 1 yard line was a defensive thing of beauty. Stewart was amazing with a game high 14 tackles with 11 solo tackles plus 1 QB Sack and 1 Tackle for a loss.

The 73 yard TD pass from Hill to DeShields was huge to tie the game 35-35. Loved how DeShields just kept running straight to the end zone down the right sideline. He had all the confidence that he could beat the Monmouth defenders going in a straight line. DeShields keeps getting better and better.

Fun game to watch, especially when URI comes out on top of a game like that.

Wow! Massive Win and well deserved. That bus ride home will be amazing for those young men. So many players made big plays! I was impressed with Monmouth. They are a quality club. Next week will be a Huge Game! Congrats Staff/players and all those involved in the program. Giving us meaningful games and quality football is really enjoyable.

I really thought of the last five games this was one we absolutely needed. The team matched up well against them, compared to the other road teams (W&M and UNH) we will face this season. Gotta win the last two home games, gotta defend the home turf no excuses. Win one of two on the road and we’ll sit at 8-3 and finally the playoff drought will be over. Easier said than done, it’s a complete grind playing in the CAA. Lots of credit to the player and staff this is the kind of win we never would have achieved in the past ~40 years!

That OT format is just stupid IMO.

When it became a game of who has the best trick 2 pt play I was concerned. Kudos to the OC for some creative plays including the end around toss and the TE lateral.

Hill missed a wide open Warren to end the game sooner and had some questionable throws. The holding penalty on Deshields long run inside the 10 was almost a losing play but this team fought back.

Deshields has been a god send give the coach a raise who recruited him. He’s awesome

The NCAA said the OT games took too long and had too many plays. So they went to this?
Why not just do rock-paper-scissors?
We lost the Meade turf/lights opener to UD in 3 OTs, but if it had gone down like this I would’ve been PISSED!
Glad we won, but is this how the playoffs will work?
So the championship game might come down to a 2-pt conversion battle?
At least they get rid of the ridiculous ghost-runner on 2nd for the mlb playoffs.

It's definitely better than a tie, but from the third OT on it felt more like a coin flip situation than an actual football game

It felt more like Russian roulette to me and it was awesome.

It's rapid fire high stakes intensity and it doesn't take that long when it gets to the 2pt conversions.

re: The overtimes, I think part of the thinking is that it'll encourage coaches to be more aggressive going forward. Don't settle for kicks if you can punch it in, etc. Try to avoid overtime, where the game becomes more of a crapshoot.
