It's really unfair to lump BC in with UMass and UConn. BC has had a history of some success, but they've really suffered from poor coaching hires after Jeff Jagodzinski. BC fans I've seen really like their hire of Jeff Hafley though and while they'll never be the top program in the ACC there is no shame in being one of the programs in the middle of the conference pack with the occasional year where they can make the conference championship game assuming Clemson dips at some point and Florida State doesn't go back to being the Florida State we remember. That's the one thing that hurts BC the most, they're in the tougher of the two ACC divisions.

UConn actually made the right decision, it just blew up in their face due to the way the conference realignment dominoes fell. They also got screwed by Connecticut in terms of having their stadium built 20 miles from campus and having the state attorney general sue schools that left the Big East for the ACC. Going independent will kill the program, and they're better off just dropping back to the CAA at this point, but there are no good stadium options for them to do that.

UMass, who the hell knows what they've been thinking. They never should have left the CAA and you can make an argument that once they did they should have joined the MAC in all sports when they had the chance instead of going independent. They really should have come back to the CAA years ago instead of going independent.

^This is very well said. Agree with all the above.

New England is a power in FCS. New Hampshire is typically strong, so is Maine, and a few of the Ivy League programs - Yale, Harvard, Princeton.

UConn now has three wins with two against FBS opponents. Beat FIU in Florida last night 33-12. Huskies now 3-4.

UMass has yet to notch a win versus an FBS team as it lost to Liberty in Amherst yesterday 42-24. The game against the Jerry Falwell founded conservative Christian Evangelical school was promoted as LGBTQ Pride Day. Umass is now 1-5 with its lone victory over Stony Brook.

The BIG game between the two schools is Nov 4th.

I have no interest in college football in general and only care about UConn football in that I would prefer that the basketball program has some flexibility as the NCAA continues to evolve. I do know that the football team is showing the tiniest signs of life despite major injuries (that I know of- their top three running backs and their best wide receiver, plus they’re playing with a true freshman at quarterback after their starter tore his ACL in the first game).
