I guess the floor no longer has a corporate sponsor based on that new photo. In years past it had names on it such as CVS, Cox, Alex & Ani, and South County Health. Would have thought they had to pay for affixing their names. Hope this revenue is being made up elsewhere.

That could still easily be added after the fact. It's usually something thats just added to the court and wouldn't require it to be part of the refinishing or anything like that. I have no idea if it will be, but it's an easy add if needed.

Agree. A month ago they sent a tweet out that had South County Health on the floor. I cannot imagine that was by accident. I would expect that to be added to the floor before the start of the season. I just googled it and it was a four year sponsorship that started last October. They will be the corporate sponsor for at least the next three years.

Practices can start on Monday. Maybe they’ll roll out something then, fresh start and all that. They have to know there are fans out there who are excited for anything they can send out.

Well they released a teaser video. But haven't followed up with the reveal vid. Just a yawn from the Rhody Ticket twitter page.

Everything looks a little brighter when looking at the new court as compared to the rendering, even the Keaney Blue in the RI logo at center court. Could just be lighting/difference in materials though. Also I noticed in the rendering that South Coast Health was still on the court, so I'd expect that to be added later. I can't tell if they added Keaney to the letters or if that's a trick our eyes are seeing because of the outline they used, I'm thinking it's the latter

It almost certainly has Keaney blue on the baseline lettering. Also of note, there is no gorhody.com on the sidelines.

Yea, there's nothing wrong with the new logo at all, it's nice.

It's become a thing these days to instantly hate 99% of new uniforms/helmets/logos that college and professional teams put out online.

When our new logo debuted, the majority of people here hated it, said it looked too much like Colorado St, etc.

"NEW" is the URI way. It reminds me how every building committee would set a new standard in the color/shade of brick to use on the exterior. I feel it shows a lack of respect for tradition. URI should stick to traditional standards. In this case Keaney Blue should have been the predominant color.

I liked the new logo right from the start and it's grown on me even more since, but I can't blame people that weren't happy with it. We unveiled it during an absolutely terrible season and the roll out was completely botched. The new logo was kind of an avatar for how people felt in general. Something tells me if we had a proper roll out about a month after Archie got hired than opinion would have been a little different

I see your point and agree if it were to be something like the tar heels court which is a lot of Carolina blue, but accenting it would have been nice.

I would have liked to see more Keaney Blue, but it is what it is. Technically Keaney blue is ONLY used for athletics and in the interlocking RI. All official correspondence that I've seen from URI typically comes with navy blue and the yellow-gold lettering.

It is what it is and sponsorships are great BUT I do not have a good feeling about SCH. Their ER is the pits. Granted the healthcare industry is struggling overall and rescues need to be diverted BUT I sat in the ER for 5 hours in excruciating pain, then spent another 6 hours in an exam room for what was perceived as a life-threatening condition at first yet I laid on a stretcher with zero treatment (all in all I arrived at 3:30pm and was going to be kept overnight but got out at 2:30am). I did speak with a Patient Advocate and got a nice apology letter, but overall SCH does not have the most stellar rep around these parts. Oh well, hopefully, whatever they paid for naming rights becomes a good thing for all.

And, BB, I am seeing it a lot! A few people I follow on social media have left the healthcare field entirely. Not that healthcare work has ever been easy, but it has to be downright tough most days for these people.
