Ryan Center Cost Today
I would say that if we were to build the Ryan Center today the cost would be almost 3 times the original cost and be near $150 million today, assuming you could get the labor and materials to build it.

Re: Ryan Center Cost Today
I would imagine the point might be that a Ryan Center type facility would probably not get built at URI today given the cost.

Re: Ryan Center Cost Today
We should have built two back then when they were a good deal...then we wouldn't have to be worrying about it like this.

Re: Ryan Center Cost Today
It cost $54 million to build, which is $81.4 million in 2021 dollars, so I don't see how it would cost almost $150 million to build today. And as others wondered, what exactly is the point here?

Re: Ryan Center Cost Today
Point seems to be that, if we built it twice back then ($54M x 2), we would have spent $108M, which is $26.6M more than $81M. So, we really wouldn't have saved anything....RhowdyRam02 wrote: ↑1 year ago It cost $54 million to build, which is $81.4 million in 2021 dollars, so I don't see how it would cost almost $150 million to build today. The Tidewater Soccer stadium cost has doubled. I think with labor and material cost $150 million could be an accurate figure.
Lucky we built it when we did.

Increased construction costs don't bode well for an upgraded Meade. Unfortunately, we maybe stuck with the east stands until they are condemned.

Re: Ryan Center Cost Today
I think URI will be wise to get the east stands completed sooner than later. I was impressed how many showed up a few years back for the first night game at Meade Stadium. URI are missing out on ticket revenue since the capacity has been decreased. Winning truly makes an impact on attendance in a positive way. Does anyone know what the new seating capacity would be when the East stands are built? URI need to make the design of the east stands so they are easily expanded when conference realignment comes to the CAA and a sucessful program such as URI gets picked up by another larger conference. I think a capacity around 15k would be appropriate. My guess the cost would be around $40 million with inflation.
