Outstanding for him that he get to return home.

Re: Where Are They Now? Former Player Results and News
The Atlanta native returns to his home state to become Associate Head Coach at the University of Georgia. Has had coaching career stops at Clemson, URI, Charleston, and Northeastern. Probably currently among the most qualified URI alums in college coaching. Will likely be a head coach of his own program within a few years. URI Class of 1999 - all four years had 20 or more wins, three NCAA trips including 1998 Elite-8, one NIT appearance, 1999 A-10 Tournament Championship.

Looks like Fatts and Tyrese were playing together at the PIT.

Re: Where Are They Now? Former Player Results and News
I am happy for both of them that they are able to continue playing a game the love, and grew as men after leaving our program.
I am sad/angry that we had them and other key pieces, and completely squandered their talent.
When they left (especially Tyrese), I was very bitter. I have since allowed those feelings to pass and now will continue to root for them to do well in the future. I hope to see them able to continue their careers in Europe, G League, or if something crazy happens the NBA.

I’m not bitter at Fatts. I am bitter at T Martin and J Toppin.

I was salty when Toppin and Martin left, I'm sure we all were to a degree. Looking back now on the Cox era, those decisions appear to be the correct decision. Neither is going to the NBA because of, or in spite of Cox, but, considering how the last two years played out for Rhody I can't blame a kid for wanting to maximize their potential at UConn or Kentucky.

This is kind of how I feel I was disappointed when I first found out they were transferring but then I realized they made the best decision for their future so best of luck to themSTC wrote: ↑2 years ago I was salty when Toppin and Martin left, I'm sure we all were to a degree. Moreover - had they toughed it out with Cox, what benefit do we have? We certainly weren’t dancing either either of the last 2 years. Maybe a couple more wins? Maybe one more game in the A10 tourney?reef wrote: ↑2 years agoThis is kind of how I feel I was disappointed when I first found out they were transferring but then I realized they made the best decision for their future so best of luck to themSTC wrote: ↑2 years ago I was salty when Toppin and Martin left, I'm sure we all were to a degree. We potentially could’ve had no coaching change and been in for one or two more years of hell.
Very happy everything happened the way it did.

I think we would have had the talent to dance with a big 3 of Fatts Toppin and Rece this year but would have ultimately fallen short , we weren’t going to win more than we should because of coachingBlue Man wrote: ↑2 years agoMoreover - had they toughed it out with Cox, what benefit do we have? Tyrese Martin made the all tournament team in Portsmouth
In three games over a four-day span, Martin averaged 19.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists, including two double-doubles, as his team, sponsored by Roger Brown's Restaurant, reached the championship finals before bowing to Sales Systems, LTD, 106-94.
The 6-6 guard from Allentown, Pa., shot .558 overall, .353 from three-point range, and .714 from the foul line.

Ian Rapoport

The #Browns signed TE Marcus Santos-Silva, a 6-foot-6, 261-pound forward who played hoops for Texas Tech the last two seasons. Now, he’ll make the switch to football.

Nothing new here. Back when Pitt was in the A-10 (you can look it up!) they had a center named Sam Clancy -- 6-6 and about 240, IIRC. Had a long career in the NFL at linebacker.

Thanks for posting this, Ace. That he is grateful cannot be overlooked because life can distract and move at such a fast pace that we can forget to be grateful. That’s an insightful post from a young man who has a bright future in or out of basketball.
That said…I’m not so sure about the world class university part, however.

So Jimmy Baron will be taking part in a tournament in Springfield this weekend. And interesting who retweeted that
This didn't show up the way I thought, so I'll just say that Archie retweeted it

I've got a feeling. Archie just started following him recently. And was it Iggy that said the player development position would be filled with a former player? That would be awesome.RhowdyRam02 wrote: ↑1 year ago So Jimmy Baron will be taking part in a tournament in Springfield this weekend. And interesting who retweeted that

I mean who could possibly be a better fit than Jimmy? Especially since Archie seems to want to put an emphasis on shooting.

It makes sense. Perhaps once that June 1 contract date comes around (I think I have that date right?) we'll get an announcement on Jimmy filling that last spot on the staff...

Former football and basketball player Rex Sunahara was just waived by the Pittsburgh Steelers. It appears he's been on and off the Steelers and Dolphins practice squads as a long snapper since graduating from West Virginia

IMO, TMartin was a good college player but not good enough at anything to make the NBA.

The good news for Tyrese is you’re a commenter on a college basketball forum, and not a NBA scout. Sleep tight 72

I think Tyrese has a good chance to get some nba run. He got better at UConn and if Hurls thought this was his time, I believe it.
