I wonder where Fatts lands next? I’m guessing Europe.

Oops. I forgot Fatts is a bit of a lightening rod for some here. Didn’t mean to pull this thread off track. My bad.

Really?

I'm assuming Walker is good as gone. He's from DC, is a Cox guy, and can play his last year for The Terps
My thought is that none are good enough to play for Maryland.

So therefore expect at least one to transfer to Maryland

What do you think? Will any current URI player end up at Maryland? Do you have an opinion?

Nah I haven’t managed people so my opinion won’t have much value.

I have no opinion other than almost everything you have written on this board has been wrong, so I'll take my chances you'll be wrong here.

Maybe Antwan will be the one who plays for Maryland I think he could be a rotation player but not a starter there

Walker is a fundamentally solid player. He’ll be a great get for Maryland. If his relationship with Cox remains good his transfer to College Park is a no brainer.

What is there to negotiate in David Cox's buyout? Both sides seem to acknowledge that he is owed two years of base salary. But, I've read that he is owed ~$1M.

In another thread there was talk about how maybe URI didn't handle the process of firing Cox appropriately, at least in relation to alerting the players, with the assumption being that URI leaked the firing to the press before they alerted the players Cox was fired. However, how do we know the leak about Cox being fired came from the URI side? Isn't it as, or even more, likely the leak came from Cox, and if so, how can URI get ahead of the coach leaking it to the press?

Leaks always happen. Staff, family, agents, etc. are always good sources for reporters. It’s not a big deal. It’s not like they’re leaking state secrets.

I had thought that the timing of the David Cox firing was specifically selected to cover concerns such as this. Thorr waited until the team had returned to Kingston. I would have thought that Thorr would have met with Cox early that Friday morning to inform him and get his input on how the players should be notified. I would think Cox would have been allowed to meet with his players and break the news if he wanted. If he declined this opportunity, it would have then fallen on the athletic dept to convey the message in person to the players and staff. The proper most professional method was a prompt formal in person notification. If the players found out differently, it is unfortunate. I however am not ready to assess the blame for this if it did occur as all the details are not yet known.
