This Rhody team currently does not deserve a preview, but I will begrudgingly write up a small one. Richmond is an anomaly within the A10 as 3 of their top 4 scorers are forwards. Tyler Burton & Grant Golden are both averaging 15+ while their 4th leading scorer Nathan Cayo is averaging almost 9 per contest. Jacob Gilyard, who seems like he is a 10th year senior, is averaging 12 points & an impressive 6.2 assists per game. He is the straw that stirs the drink for the Spiders. Speaking of straws, the free throw & 3-point shooting for Rhody is the straw that broke the camel’s back for me. If we did a straw poll on this site about Cox’s future with this team, it wouldn’t look good for him. His loss to GW was the last straw. Rhody will be favored by about 1 since they are at home. Rhody will falter because of their shooting as I predict a Richmond win, 74-70. Go Rhody!!

It is difficult for me to think we will win this game.
Our last 2 games, probably the easiest on the schedule we looked pathetic.
The team isn't clicking right now and bottom line that is on the HC, Cox.
We have serious shooting woes (ongoing issue) and can't trust the Mitchells on the foul line.
Shep isn't the impact player I thought he would be.
I feel Richmond is a much better team than their record indicates, opposite of us.
Our starters just aren't as good as theirs.
Gilyard and Burton will be the 2 best players on the court.
Cayo, Sherrod, and Golden all have plenty of experience and very capable.

Sometimes things playout unexpectedly.
Maybe our team finds a way to win, who knows.

White on gray and Keaney blue on gray is not good for the eyes...not enough contrast in the coloring. It's very hard to decipher names and numbers (for those who don't follow a team closely) on TV with the color combination or if you're far from the action in person.

URI has a branding problem if they're going with gray uniforms.

Need to stick with their color base.

This is what it's been like under Cox for years. We can look like a top 25 team in moments and then barely beat Lasalle and lose to GW. It wouldn't surprise me at all if we beat Richmond. All I know is Thorr better be aware that Richmond will be looking for a new coach after this season, and it wouldn't surprise me if we were going after the same targets.

I don’t know why people are still so hung up on that.

It’s a stone cold fact, and social media is responsible for putting out anything positive for the program.

Obviously we all know Cox is a below average head coach, but the program has to do what the program has to do to paint this team and coach in a positive light.

The only alternates we should do is the navy/keaney lamar odom ones (more recent NCAA runs as well) - I'd even like the old school Carlos Easterling blue/yellow/white.

It was shooting, teams have bad shooting stretches. In general I think we are an ok shooting team this year so I expect a bounce back.

Right now not a fan of the new jerseys. I went to the Univ of Rhode Island NOT the Univ of Ocean State. Does it say URI or Rhody or Rhode Island anywhere. It's a hard pass for me so far.

…….I suppose flashy type uniforms might attract some folks, couple that with winning some games, social media things, and maybe we will look on ESPN+…….give me traditional URI simple design colors, from the Keaney chem lab………no yellow……no black…….no gray…….

The interlocking "RI" goes back to the 30s and Frank Keaney as well. Might as well change our colors to black and white.

I miss the real stitched lettering of the previous jerseys. These look cheap and a missed opportunity.But if it helps motivate the players then so be it.

Imo the new uniforms are drab . I prefer something bright . Have always liked the style of uniform that has the team name running vertically
down the right side of the jersey placed inside two team colored stripes as borders that continues down to the bottom of the shorts . always
thought they looked so classy . Marquette wore them in the early 70s as did my high school in NJ . I would think RHODE ISLAND RAMS or maybe
just RI RAMS running vertically between the two blue stripes would look awesome . This blah gray doesn't do it for me at all . I like the current
uniforms better . But for this year's team maybe blah gray is appropriate . Sorry , the last game has really put me in a foul mood no pun intended .

Would love to go back to stitched uniforms. These just look like bad chinese knockoffs - or the sports section at Bob's where you can't buy the official licensed stuff.

I mean it's bad enough you can't get legit game jerseys at the RamZone.

But passing printed practice jerseys off as cool alternates is pretty lame.

I also remember when we did away with the Ram logo (best logo ever) because of "branding" and the importance of keeping a consistent brand across all platforms...that isn't even the same anchor as the football team uniforms?

And not for nothing unless Rhody dons a scuba suit since when are Rams associated with the sea?

I get that we're the Ocean State and whatever - but this whole thing is stupid.

TL;DR - I'm incredibly salty at everything going on with this program, I miss good basketball, we were good 4 years ago and our coaching hire didn't work out, so now I'm going to complain about jerseys since there's no point in arguing about basketball anymore.

I will say the Ram logo from the Skinner era (or started in Skinner's years somewhere in the mid 90s) is my favorite. I didn't like the interlocking RI at first, but it has grown on me.

Agree. And, who outside of RI residents know we are the Ocean State. If they want people to know who we are without using "Rhode Island", they should just put "Road Work Ahead" on the jerseys.
