Re: ‘22 MD PG - Chance Stephens (Rhode Island commit)
Chance dropped 27. His shot doesn't even touch the rim. For all of you that say his shot looks low, he has such a quick release I think he'll be ok. Where he may have trouble is pulling up off the dribble. He has unlimited range and will instantly come in and be our best shooter. This kid is a steal.

Good to hear. Hopefully these performances will translate well to Div. 1.steveystuds06 wrote: ↑2 years ago Chance dropped 27. His shot doesn't even touch the rim. I think we are set for the future at guard position with Chance, Ish, and Bassy. We have yet to see what impact Tres will have.
Plus veterans AB and Carey still have 2 years eligibility after this season.

Is Chance really a combo guard and scorer rather than a “set up” guard?

Re: ‘22 MD PG - Chance Stephens (Rhode Island commit)
He was recruited for his shooting, who knows.
Most on this board don't believe he will be in a Rhody uniform anyway.

He will be our very own version of Steph Curry and Jimmy Baron

15, I believe Reef said it tongue-in-cheek, don't take it literally.

Re: ‘22 MD PG - Chance Stephens (Rhode Island commit)
If Chance is really more of a shooting guard, we still need a top quality point guard. Thomas is currently very limited.
(Maybe he can come the second part of this year, truly need someone now)

Maybe he’s willing to honor the commitment he made to the university no matter who the coach is. I’m sure he knows Cox may not be here next year. Could also be showing loyalty to Cox and will stay committed until he is firedRhodyRams916 wrote: ↑2 years agowait.... so all that enthusiasm on Twitter and then POOF he's not going to show up because Cox is fired? that would be hilarious.

So other than that our chances with Chance are great, right?Rhody15 wrote: ↑2 years agoNobody commit to a university.RIrugger01 wrote: ↑2 years agoMaybe he’s willing to honor the commitment he made to the university no matter who the coach is. Nate Brafford will be here too for that game. Too bad there won't be any fans.

No way he could handle RI weather

Re: ‘22 MD PG - Chance Stephens (Rhode Island commit)
I lived in LA for a year and I remember celebrating my birthday (Feb 23rd) with my soon to be HOT Mexican gf Arantxa with green eyes..... and it was also a HOT 94 freaking degrees that day! Sweating my face off on my February birthday!Billyboy78 wrote: ↑2 years agoI, for one, would hate 95 degrees every day. I am extremely hot natured and I swear I would sweat every single day there.
It got to like 40 something one time in December and that was it.
People would wear ear muffs and mittens when it was 69 out! Wearing like thick black leather jackets so they can keep their over the top cringe aesthetic and they wouldn't sweat! I hated them!

Re: ‘22 MD PG - Chance Stephens (Rhode Island commit)
Would an AD ever encourage this? Try to keep some continuity?
Otherwise I’m also having a tough time understanding the motive here. Maybe Cox is ignorant of his situation or just trying to maintain good relationships

Might as well have him come so in case Cox gets another job next season, Chance may follow.KingstonLane wrote: ↑2 years ago Would an AD ever encourage this? Try to keep some continuity?

Which one is true? 1. A decision hasn't been made yet....2. A decision has been made but Cox hasn't been told yet....3. A decision has been made, Cox has been told but Cox isn't telling his recruits.

I would say it's about 99% been made, but for the 1% chance we win the A10's.

He's the one guy I wish would keep his commitment with a new coach.
