Right, I’m not sure if they are being funny, or they really don’t know.

They are just looking for more reasons to fluff their agenda of ousting Cox. If their venom is justified, it just adds another gripe to the whine list.
Bottom line, I hope we win. I hope we win big.

I hope so too, but I’m expecting a very tight game. I also think people forget that this team had Syracuse on the ropes last year

They lost to Mount St Mary’s in the NEC championship game. Lost to Cuse by 1 in their second game of the season. They are just an unpredictable team. That’s all I’m saying. We SHOULD win, but I’ll never count my chickens….

Grasso has done a fantastic job building what used to be a joke of a program. I don't care what conference they are in. If this team is hot, they could steal one tomorrow... This will not be an easy game.

I would hate to be like some fan bases from the higher conferences that assume we are an easy matchup because we are an A10 team when they have no idea what type of roster or team we have. Anyone that has seen Bryant play knows they can compete with teams at our level.

If they are going to win 20 games this season...I know it's just one game, but it's an indicator of what's to come imo.
We still don't know if we have the talent right now to win 20 games, whether or not the coaching is good enough to get the most out of it.
With the OOC schedule we have...I predicted 8-5, but if that happens, no way we win 20.
It will take 10-3 imo.

We have always been susceptible to a terrible loss. No matter who the coach or roster. Just like almost every college team every year. Isn't that obvious?

I think this is important to always keep in mind. Even the best URI teams have had some "wtf?" loses, or some "we only beat them by X points?" wins on their resume when you look back at them. In 1997-98, we lost to some guy named Jim Baron, coaching St. Bonaventure to a 17-15 record. The next year's team, led by Lamar Odom, had loses to Cleveland State and Pepperdine, and lost games vs. St. Bonaventure and Fordham to end the regular season, before winning the A-10 tournament.Rhody_NYCT wrote: ↑2 years ago

Sounds as if we should dominate by our bigs vs can the bigs guard a 3 pt shooter. Obviously, we need to guard the 3 aggressively, meaning force them to drive where we will get our share of blocks.

I'm really curious to see how we look against Bryant's run and gun style. It's hard to know for sure after just one game, but I kind of feel like that tempo could be good for us offensively to. Just need to stay out of foul trouble of course.

We have guards and wings that are good at pressuring the ball. We're going to have to play smaller though. Having the twins out there together won't work against a team that has a lot of three point shooters. Don't give them a lot of good looks from three and this is a blowout.

Yes, and I don't think Basketball has had as much talent across the country as we do now. College Basketball and the NBA is as deep as it's ever been, in my opinion. I would love to have players like McCoy and White. McCoy because he's super talented and White because I'm a diehard Breaking Bad fan.SGreenwell wrote: ↑2 years agoI think this is important to always keep in mind. Get your point but it’s more about them shooting 55% from 3 right now. We’re getting everything we want and more inside, shots will come
You won’t win many games if your opponent shoots that well from deep. A lot of running around on defense, plenty of time to clean it up
