We're being outrebounded and losing the turnover battle.

Does anyone remember how much we were up when Cox called a timeout after the offensive basket? It seems like it’s been downhill since then.

Based on the replay I'm hopeful it wasn't too serious. Looked like a muscle strain or cramp as opposed to anything structural. Here's hoping!
Edit: or maybe ankle.

Hard to nail down who to blame here, but I’d argue it’s unwise to work through your post players with 4 fouls. Begging for trouble

So Cox didn't learn time out management this off-season....
Any idea who the radio color commentator is? It's not Don Kaull, it's a guy named Tim. Wondering if this is a one off, a temporary thing, or a permanent move

Learn TO management? Who do you know that's better at killing momentum with a TO?RhowdyRam02 wrote: ↑2 years ago So Cox didn't learn time out management this off-season....

Whoever put in the work to get the students to turn out tonight deserves some credit. Their sections look pretty full on TV at least.

Re: 11/9 | Boston University | 7:00PM (YurView/ESPN+)
The good news is that last year after laying an egg in the second half they would’ve lost the game. This year they won the game and they did it by making free throws. And they covered!

Re: 11/9 | Boston University | 7:00PM (YurView/ESPN+)
It was ugly at times, but it counts all the same. They led wire to wire. First game of the year and all that, so not going to get too carried away in either direction.
El-Amin is going to be fun to watch. And Leggett came out very strong.

My first thought is it's once again amazing how Vegas calls the spread. Second thought is good win. Third thought is I like El-Amin. Fourth thought is Mitchell's are an enigma to me. Or maybe not. Final thought is nice game Leggett.

Mobley was fouled.
Re: 11/9 | Boston University | 7:00PM (YurView/ESPN+)
Nice balanced scoring. Not bad for a first game. Hit the spread exactly.
I think you will see that the entire season: Ish, Shep, EA, and Makhi avg double digits.
I gave EA the edge out of those 4 in the season contest because of his FT shooting.

Re: 11/9 | Boston University | 7:00PM (YurView/ESPN+)
Most optimistic thing I can think of is this.
I dont think the Mitchell twins and Walker can play any worse as a group than they did tonight and we still won pretty easily.
Otherwise that second half was blahhhhh
Really feel encouraged about defense and the guards.
I will cautiously assume we will see much better from our frontcourt.
Still, weird substitutions and our offense lacks flow and a sense of identity.

Can’t wait until Shep shows up from beyond the arc. Need to get him looks, early.
I love the UNSELFISH play today. Not used to seeing that.
We can’t look past Bryant, they can get sneakily hot….I really don’t like that game this early in the season.

Re: 11/9 | Boston University | 7:00PM (YurView/ESPN+)
Get the first game jitters out, way too many turnovers and sloppy offensive play.
IF we are going to play the 2 Mitchell's together this is what it will undoubtedly look like -- way too much ball handling for Makhi away from the basket, and due to switches way too many times with 1 of them covering a quicker smaller player. The result of that will be foul trouble and turnovers. I wish I felt more optimistic about them both on the floor at same time but IMO they are both at their best in the paint and you can't have 2 guys occupying the same space.
El Amin is a gamer and difference maker. His defensive intensity is Hurley era like. Loved what he did tonight he is my MVP. Overall defense looked much more like we saw in Hurley years albeit it with too much fouling gotta clean that up.

Not a bad showing against a decent vet team. Its a good start to the season.

Maybe we were all wrong and our guards will be the strength of our team this season.
The propensity of our bigs to foul is still a concern along with turnovers.
