Hasahn French is trying out as a TE for the Titans

Can definitely see that happening for him.

Don't have to shoot free throws in the NFL!

I think Cyril should have given it a shot.

Can't blame him for playing in Sweden though. That'd be sweet.

Hassan Martin also, would have no doubt in my mind, been a pro bowl tight end.

Geez, what would the penalty have been if he actually had kept the money. Seems like the NCAA doesn't view Creighton as in the "Cartel". Remind me again what UNC got for sham classes?

Can he appeal?

No penalty for UNC
https://www.sbnation.com/college-basket ... -sanctions

Yes, he can appeal but they are typically denied and the punishment upheld.
Kevin Ollie from UConn had his appeal denied.

Preston did what was expected - protected a dirty program. NCAA was not happy with Preston's lack of cooperation with their investigation. Had Preston cooperated, no head coach would have hired him. Now, he can get back in the game.

Dirty program? The only time they have ever has an issue is because of what Preston did on his own for accepting improper payments which is documented. You don't really think he was going to let his career pretty much get destroyed if it was someone else's fault do you?

Agreed, this shouldn't be an indictment of Creighton. They have a good reputation for running a clean program and they only got a slap on the wrist, deservedly so.
I also feel that Murphy got a bad deal. He wasn't the focus of the investigation and just got caught up in it. He thought he was helping out a childhood friend. He didn't keep any money, it was returned immediately and no action taken. He also fully disclosed the sequence of events to the HC and AD.

If he [Preston] told the truth to the NCAA his career would "pretty much get destroyed". Assistant coaches and other staff do the dirty work to provide plausible deniability for the HC, AD and institution. No one will hire a snitch.

You missed the point. This had nothing to do with the administration or HC and dirty school policy. PM thought he was just helping a childhood friend, didn't realize the scheme going on. The money was immediately given back and he gave full disclosure to the HC and administration. He also passed a polygraph test.
The school was put on probation because they didn't report this event to the NCAA and Murphy was punished for attending a meeting with Dawson (his friend) in the hotel room.
This turned out to be an undercover sting operation with an FBI agent in attendance posing as an associate agent/ consultant in an attempt to steer players to a management company.
Rasmussen the Creighton AD upon hearing about this didn't act upon the information and report it to the compliance committee.
Murphy had said he didn't accept any payment because he had immediately returned the money.

Some old faces playing in The Basketball Tournament:
Delroy James (Autism Army)
Xavier Munford (The Money Team)

Biggie Minnis and Earl Watson teams didn't qualify I think.

Jonathan Holton is also on Best Virginia.

Tommy garrick (the son) is not in the TBT tournament. Tommy garrick is still in Rhode Island. Have seen him numerous times this summer. He actually plays in one of my mens summer leagues currently. Tommy just got finished up playing in Armenia before covid hit. And still trying to figure out his next basketball opportunity as we speak.

So what’s your point? Because The Players Tournament site spelled it Whales vs Wales means he did or didn’t get mention on the roster accurately

Yeah so the Team MDA Muscle that Tommy Garrick (the son) joined did not qualify for the TBT tournament. So they did not have a single game. They were left out of the field of 64 teams. They apparently did not do that good in the qualifiers.

But, I can definitely confirm that he is in Rhode Island after I talked to him for an hour at our summer league last week.

I watched a good part of that game and with 22 points (seemed like almost all in the 2nd half) for The Money Team, Xavier was the best player out there in that game, I thought.

I agree. They were down by 15 or more and I kept saying to myself give the ball to Xavier. He was extremely aggressive offensively in 2nd half and really put the team on his back down the stretch. The game last night was a great comeback that was entirely fueled by the scoring and playmaking of X. Delroy plays tonight at 7pm.

I wish Rhody in the coming years of the TBT would make an alumni team like a lot of the other programs. I think it would be great to watch and they could be really good. Imagine like JT, EC, Hassan, Delroy, Xavier, Andre Berry, maybe Jimmy Baron Jr, Keith Cothran, etc. I guess one can only dream haha.

Watching Olympic basketball right now and it's Japan vs Slovenia.

The much maligned Yuta Watanabe is out there for Japan, he's guarding Luka Doncic, Doncic backs him down backs him down and Yuta forces a turnover.....then they mention how he won DPOY in college and I'm NOT PLEASED about it...🤬🤬🤬
