Entering the transfer portal… team won the Big10 and had a number one seed in the tourney. Second team all American. Sounds good right.

Maybe he feels he has unfinished business at Illinois if he stays there.
Also he might want to try and refine his game instead of being just a traditional center.
You never know what exactly goes into their thinking, also the new NIL ruling may of played a part.
It might just be me, but I always give a kid credit for staying in school rather than jumping into the pro ranks, realizing that staying doesn't always work to their advantage monetarily.
