But at least we never ducked our rival in pursuit of an at-large resume, only to lose in the first round of a conference tournament for a 3-4 bid league.
A10 could potentially have same number of bids as The Big East. All depends on what bubble teams lose to help ST Louis.

Evidently the road to the Bigheaded East championship ran through Chicago, where it dead-ended.

Poor, poor Fryizz.

Probably, but Wright gets a lot of respect
Losing BE CO-POY Gillespie and Justin Moore playing on a bad ankle didn't help their cause.

They may have been a bit overrated bc they lack a true big like they had with Ochefu and Spellman.
But they were a very good team that is now a shell of that without Gillespie and hobbled Moore.

I’m watching. At end of 1st quarter. Watching Dowtin handle the ball reminds me how it seemed like he had a rubber string attached to the ball when he dribbled - so adept at dribbling and not turning the ball over. Wish he had played PG his last two years.

Moreso St Louis, VCU seems to be solidly in the field even with a loss.

St Louis is 2nd / 3rd team out.

UConn vs. Creighton should be a great matchup, the Huskies want revenge after the previous 2 loses. This would be the perfect stage for that.

they are one of the hottest teams right now, since Bouknight came back.

Danny has them playing like the 2017 Rhody team that got hot and made the run in A10 and could have gotten to the 2nd weekend in NCAA

Speaking of that 2017 team, it was 4 years ago today we beat VCU to with the A10 Final.

I will forever be pissed about how close we came to beating Oregon in the second round...

No kidding. Hassan was playing on one leg, Oregon shot 20 more free throws than we did and we still almost won.

The EC "charge," letting up two offensive rebounds on missed FTS, and Tyler Dorsey's 25 footer.

If ONE of those goes our way, we're Sweet 16 bound.

Some thoughts on the UConn game tonight...

1: Martin did nothing. Role player.
2: The Big East has never been worse (of course Nova was a very good team). Missed opportunity for Hurley.
3. Yes, I am bitter about Martin leaving us. He's not exactly in a better position now at UConn. Excellent class coming in next year.

Firstly, I apologize for drinking-and-posting last night. I was taking cheap shots at Martin and Hurley. Yes, I wanted them to lose because I am still upset that they left. They did miss a opportunity to win the Big East with Nova out and the league unusually down, but making the tourney is a big accomplishment. I’m sure Martin has no regrets. On a different note and a chance to give Martin some love, I was at the home game vs Alabama a few years ago when he did that 360 dunk at the end of the game. I had left my seat at that point and was watching the last minute from right behind that basket. Seeing that dunk live and from that angle was spectacular.
