Unfortunately not a surprise. We weren't listed during Bryant's schedule reveal or listed on their schedule, and I always found that funny. Now we know why. My guess is they've had this listed as a lost game for quite a while. I wonder if that allowed us extra practice time though

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University football team announced the cancellation of its Feb. 27 game with the University of Rhode Island on Wednesday morning.

Bryant has canceled the game out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of the student-athletes. The Bulldogs' contact practices have been limited due to COVID-19 protocols. Bryant and URI will look to possibly play later in the spring if there is an opening in both teams' schedules.

Bryant will now set its sights on its Northeast Conference opener against Long Island University on Mar. 7. Kickoff is slated for 12:00 p.m.

Guess I should have read the the press release, but why does canceling this game improve the likelihood of finishing the season w/o a Covid related issue. Sounds like a bunch of BS, another week and all the Covid related issues surrounding the Byrant program are gone and with one extra week of extra practice the team will be ready to play the U of Long Island?

Thats a top-of-the-line synthetic turf field built only a handful of years ago. Shouldn't be anything wrong with it.

I'm not covering for them. Bryant is probably scared to play us.

Think about this too.. if there was an issue with the field, wouldn't they offer to play it at our place? They could always reschedule a game at Bryant in coming year(s).
