Not one word on Twitter. Not much recruiting news at all
for any schools.
Unusually quiet.

It lasts until May 15th, so plenty of time. There are a few big names scheduled to announce, but the dates don't mean everything. There are always late qualifiers, graduates, etc. Bigby, for example, didn't surface until September of last year.

Unlike last year, Dan has the luxury of being patient this spring.

Everyone seems to be talking in code.
Heard URI is looking at another international player who is playing HS ball in states. But someone else thought it might be a Canadian.
Also hear that Preston continues to work his Michigan connections.

Re: LOI Day..
For the first time, in a long time, I don't really care if we bring in another player this signing period. We look pretty solid already. If we do, fine. If we don't, at least we'll have additional scholarships for next year. That may prove to be the better option.
We'll be like the Patriots, saving our first round draft picks.

Now that AAU is starting up, the talk will come. I'm not saying it will be accurate, but there will be talk.rodfromcranston wrote:Not one word on Twitter. Not much recruiting news at all

Re: LOI Day..
Signing period ends Wed, so if there's going to be visits this week it has to happen in the next couple of days.

My understanding is that the signing period lasts until May 15.Iggy1979 wrote:Signing period ends Wed, so if there's going to be visits this week it has to happen in the next couple of days.

Really hard to make that joke work on any sports message board, which are filled mostly with guys, many of whom are 100% sure of the correctness and genius of their own opinion.

In all seriousness though, Ace, you are in my opinion a KeaneyBlue.com SuperMember. I just don't know how you are able to stay on top of all these topics.ace wrote:Really hard to make that joke work on any sports message board, which are filled mostly with guys, many of whom are 100% sure of the correctness and genius of their own opinion.

Re: LOI Day..
Very exciting to see the quality of names we're being mentioned with for late '13 recruits, as well as going forward with the '14 class. Kudos to all the staff, couldn't be more excited with the direction of the program. I'd love to see a couple more players in the fold for next year, I'm not a real big proponent of "saving" scholarships, but only in the event that Hurley and Co. find an individual worth the spot.

Re: LOI Day..
The 2014 fall class will dwarf whatever is around during
late spring signing.
That's the major argument for saving at least one of the 2013's
to 2014.
Foster is an obvious exception, due to circumstances.
A post grad or fifth year player, would also be fine, as
it would release a 2014 scholarship.
