Ho. Lee. Crap.

Not much more to add, but this was impressive. Let’s remember it was one half of one game.

It's amazing how effective our offense can be when we don't turn the ball over, get good shots and make free throws....46 points in the 2nd half. I also love the way Makhel is progressing with some nice low post moves and scoring.

I hate to pile on the kid, but Carey should be a “break the glass in case of emergency” player moving forward. What I can’t figure out is how he was so highly-rated to begin with. Was he competing against the school for the blind in high school??

Great win, a lot of positives after the first 10 mins of play. No doubt we have top tier A10 talent and that includes Carey. He definitely has some skill but needs to clean up the turnovers if he is going to continue getting solid minutes down the stretch. His second half drive and layup was smooth but the 4 TOs were worse. I’m hoping he can figure out how to protect the ball.

The rest of the team was pretty solid. Can’t wait to see what team shows up next game.

This comes from good preparation and coaching. Today was an improvement. End of the day, if they limit turnovers, watch out. (12 turnovers today, that’s 7 below average and 7 less possessions for the other team.)

That was me too.

I think I have missed 4 games including this one for one reason or another. In the 4 games I have missed, Rhody is 4-0.

If I don't watch the game, they automatically win. If I do watch the game, it's closer to 50/50.

This team can be good when they limit the turnovers and make FT's.

That much is clear.

Need to see some more of this.

And yes, Carey needs to sit and Leggett needs to play.

He can see the floor and slow the game down, pretty good for a freshman.

Just like Jeff did.

It’s amazing when you play team defense and don’t throw the ball all over the place how good you can look

Our best half of basketball on both ends in a long time

Makhel continues to impress, his footwork, patience and game awareness get better every game. If him and his brother don’t play in NCAA games in Keaney Blue it’s a travesty

Jalen Carey is unplayable

Shorter bench made us more cohesive

Antwan Walker in PnR with Fatts and a shooter in the strong corner (Shep, DJ) should be our go to play when we need a hoop

Ish Leggett fills the stat sheet yet doesn’t attempt a FG. He is a gamer. #FreeIsh

That is what this team is capable of; how much we see of that moving forward is in their hands (and the staff).

Absolutely amazing how people have been calling for Carey to be out of the rotation, yet wanting Harris and have been questioning why he isn’t playing and saying it has to be an injury or disciplinary and not that he just isn’t good.

Harris didn’t play today because he sucks, has always sucked, and Cox is finalizing realizing we’re better with DJ.

I know it’s going to be tough for everyone to finally admit they’ve been wrong for 3 years and I (along with Blue Man) have been right.

I think some of us are being too hard on Carey. He definitely seems out of sync. But he has shown a nice mid range jump shot at times and is very athletic. He also has the ability to drive and score at the rim as good as anyone on the team. Needs to just minimize the turnovers and let the game come to him. If he puts a lot of work into his 3 point shot and ball handling he will be a great player for us for a few more more years.

Nice double/double (14/10) from Makhel, he is really coming along great. Walker continues to impress and they both form a good duo up front.
DJ had a +/- of +20, best on the team today.

He doesn’t even need to shoot 3s at a high level, just cut down on the turnovers and he’s be fine.

He’s easily the most athletic player on the team, he does things going to the basket that nobody else can do.

That put back dunk last game showed that.

Cut down the turnovers and he’ll be fine.

The issue is we expected him to play like this every game. But against UAss, 3-13 FG, 1-3 3pt and 3 TO's. So, it's tough to praise a Senior when this is what we expected but have not seen consistently.

Seriously, Harris didn't even DNP to your expectations. It's hard to critique a player in an in-game thread who isn't on the floor. Harris hasn't been good this year and neither has Carey. Both should be end of the bench guys.

Do you watch Harris like this?

I think Carey is athletic, but he can't shoot from the outside and has a weak handle. I think if he played off the ball and gets in open space in the paint on the move he can be effective. And crash the offensive boards, he has hops and can finish near the rim. If he were 6'8, he'd have much more upside.
