There needs to be a paradigm shift in college basketball to raise the threshold for technical fouls. Why is the outcome of a game determined by words players said? You should have to say something ABUSRD to get a tech.

Our offense is not existent. Not sure how long it's going to take for the coaching to realize we need to play a different style of offense to beat a zone instead of taking fade away jumpers and driving into 3 defenders. Every team plays zone against us and they refuse to adjust.

Can somebody / anybody make a jump shot. Too much dribbling and they pass up a 15-16 footer and drive into a lot of traffic for a more difficult shot.

First post in awhile after much lurking, hope everyone is doing well.

Observations 2.5 games in...

- We really could’ve used Harris these past two games, but especially against BC. BC got to the rim way too easily in the 2nd half.

- Fatts isn’t the same player when he’s a non-threat from the perimeter. And he’s still great because he’s distributing and getting to the rim. But as others have said, we need him to start knocking down 3’s above 30%.

- Leggett and Martin look the part physically. Haven’t seen the shooting touch from either and hopefully we will soon.

- Carey, Sheppard and DJ are all very solid players. Gotta find a way to get them in the flow together or in a rotation with Fatts. Moving the ball will come over time vs going into ISO mode (which we’ve been seeing a lot more of). Carey seems like a guy who can create his own shot, which is nice to have.

- I really want to be level-headed and fair but I do not love the Mitchell Twins’ game. Has anyone else notice them just standing there looking at a loose ball and/or not boxing out? That lunging style will lead to some blocked shots but also many, many fouls. They also never look to pass or move the ball from the post. The poor FT shooting is annoying too. I know it’s not even 3 games and they do appear to have a decent touch around the rim, but so far I’m disappointed.

- Walker has played well. I’d love to see more consistency from him and a few designed back screens/alley ops.

- Today is important because this team needs to learn how to win together.

Well so far there is one improvement that I see. They are shooting foul shots much better than in the past two games. I'll take it.
They're still fouling a lot & defensively they still look a little unorganized(lacking a little discipline) & their offensive sets could use some work as well.
If they can continue to have a good 2nd half as far as foul shots are concerned & they can get the win. I'll be pleased that some progress was made, however little.

Kyle I actually watch the games and comment on the reality of the situation. In the first half of the S Florida game URI has shown no half-court offense and no outside shooting. URI made their FTs and scored in transition.

I like the adjustment to the rotation, not playing the 3 small guards together. There are plenty of minutes for all 3 without them being on the court together.

The guy slips into Fatts and he gets the foul called on him. Then over the back uncalled on USF but Rhody immediately gets the foul call before a Harris rejection. Ugh, just started watching this half but were the whistles this shitty all game?
