Buffalo Article on Participating - gives an idea of the cost and what it covers in this excerpt:

There will be nine pods, totaling 30 teams that will participate in other “Bubbleville” preseason tournaments at Mohegan Sun Arena from Nov. 25 through Dec. 5.
According to a game contract between UB, The Gazelle Group and Basketball Hall of Fame, UB will pay a maximum of $35,000 to participate in “Bubbleville.”
This includes travel to and from Mohegan Sun Arena, the cost of both games played in the tournament, up to 15 hotel rooms, three meals per day for up to 25 people, a private team meeting space and all costs involved in COVID protocols and game operations.

Many of the games will be streamed by Flosports. Anyone hear of them? It’s $150/year or $30/month to join.

Yes. URI has had games with them in the past. I believe I signed up about 4-5 years ago because of CAA Football. I only activate when there would be games of interest.

This should be very interesting. What are the tip-off times going to be and who draws the short straws? 9:30, 12, 2:30, 5, 7:30, 10? Early game and late game would be tough draws.

SF Austin and Towson are on Flohoops. You can see many Mohegan Sun Games on Flohoops besides URI. You can join monthly or annual fee. I have had Flohoops every year since 2016.

https://www.flohoops.com/articles/68190 ... orida-more

URI vs South Florida on ESPN3 so you can see this with ESPN+ cost is $5.99/month (just went up from $4.99)
URI vs Temple on ESPN2

Nov. 25-Men: Rhode Island vs. Stephen F. Austin, FloHoops, 11:30 a.m.
Nov. 26-Men: Rhode Island vs. Towson, FloHoops, 11 a.m.
Nov. 28-Men: AFR HOF Tip-Off: Rhode Island vs. South Florida, ESPN3, 5:30 p.m.
Nov. 29-Men: AFR HOF Tip-Off: Rhode Island vs. Temple, ESPN2, 5:30 p.m.

Do we know if the A10 games that are not on national broadcast will be on ESPN 3 again? I liked that platform, easy to watch on the iPad or the TV. Hate CBS sports games - no streaming.

I thought ESPN would cover that!

Maybe they could if they didn't layoff another 400 odd people.

I'll probably end up blowing that money to watch it...

I read online numerous complaints about Flohoops causing great hassles when subscribers try to cancel after a month . They had to contact them continually even though they had clicked on cancel but were still being charged . I have had similar experiences with other sites like Flohoops in the
past . Have you ever tried to cancel a subscription to Flohoops Ramster ? I am very wary of sites like them and I am not sure I will subscribe.

Vermont has postponed the start for all its winter sports until December 18th. The Catamounts will therefore be dropping out of the Mohegan Sun bubble. UVM had been scheduled to play St Bonaventure, Buffalo, and Iona.

Flohoops does all the CAA Basketball. They also produced 9 of the 12 URI Football games last season.

Yes. I cancelled back in 2017 with no problem.
If I ever do have a problem I simply call my credit card company and they handle getting my money back.

Flofootball.com produced 9 of the 12 URI Football Games last season. Flohoops does the CAA Basketball Season and Flofootball does CAA Football Season among other stuff.

Flohopops advertising is clearly misleading. When they say 12.50 a month they are claiming that it is 12.50 a month on average if you get a yearly subscription at $ 150 . If you subscribe for a yearly subscription you will owe $150 . If regardless if you cancel early before the month is up you will owe $30. If you order monthly it is $30 and you will owe $ 30 regardless if you cancel early but you won't owe more than the $ 30 if you cancel before the next month begins. So it will cost you $30 to watch the two URI games and any others you watch in November including the other bubble games that remain in November.

You can also look at it as getting to watch 24 games on FloHoops just in this one Bubbleville.
4 UMASS Games including UMASS vs South Florida which should be a good one
Florida vs UMASS Lowell allows seeing our Freshman transfer

Saving on URI tickets, travel to and from games, food/drink before and after games. No movies, vacations, eating out costs these days, months, years.

If you Pay the $150 and you get the URI Football Season CAA Games plus other games in various sports. Must pay the $30 anyway so it's $120 for a full year.
YouTube TV is $65/month now, Netflix just went up to $18/month. ESPN+ just went up to $6/month, Traditional Cable TV is ridiculously high,
So the $150 works out to $12.50 per month for the FloHoops streaming. I'm dropping Netflix anyway, not worth the $18 per month now for me.

Just 4 weeks ago many were wondering whether there would even be a season. It's exciting that we will have live College Basketball on November 25.
Pfizer/BioNtch and Moderna with 90% and 96% efficacy rates when 50% was the low end for approval.
Buy yourself an early Christmas Present with URI Basketball

Nice read about Carl Pierre of UMASS
Degree in 3 years, Masters in his 4th and still considering returning to UMASS for his 5th Covid granted extra season. In a time when players are transferring in drives, Pierre has found success and developed leadership skills in one place.

Can’t get a ticket and go since no fans allowed.

I can’t imagine NOT seeing these two games.

It is probably only a matter of time before someone associated with the URI program tests positive and all activity is put on pause. The probability of Rhody (or nay other team for that matter) playing all of its present scheduled games diminishes daily.

Seems many if the teams that go into pause is due to support staff.
With Students headed home from URI there will be far fewer people on campus.
The players, coaches and support staff do NOT want to stop playing.

I think David Cox, his players and his staff know the consequences. So far so good. No reason to think that they can't continue to stay eligible to play basketball

Mohegan Sun will have no fans.

I don't see players getting Covid from other players. They can sweat all they want, but if nobody on the Court has Covid then all is well.

Maybe true. But we still need teams to play.

URI football was on hold when they had a few cases, but they went back to practice pretty soon after it seems.

Friar Frank tonight during the Sports section of NBC10's "News at 6:00" said that the Providence College game on Wednesday and the URI game on Wednesday will both be televised.

Does this mean something more than Internet-based FloSports?

I can only hope that COX Communications steps up in time to broadcast on YURview the URI Wednesday game.

Sure they know the consequences but they are college students and to assume they will stay in their living spaces is wishful thinking. Remember this summer when some players were at clubs in PVD??? To think they only interact with people on campus is dead wrong. Every program knows what’s at stake and programs are being paused on a daily basis. Chances are they will not play all of the scheduled games- and it probably won’t be solely because of our opponents.

To date I dont think there has been a case of a player getting it from another player in a sporting event.

I have YURview as part of my cable package, so I hope it’s televised there. I just checked the guide and it’s not listed, but it’s still early. For those that want to relive the glory years of Rhody football, the 1985 game versus UNH is scheduled to be broadcast on Saturday at 7 PM.
