Please take 16 minutes out of your day today and listen very carefully to the message from Coach Cox in this video. As an alum, I am proud to have Coach Cox as a prominent leader within our University. Thank you coach.

Re: CBS Cox Article
Wow. That is so painful to read. At least a dozen times in his life Coach Cox has been stopped for no reason by police, and his mother started warning him about it when he was 6. I can't imagine what it's like to live with the knowledge that people who are supposed to protect you can harm you any time they like.

From yesterday's ProJo:
Carey used his announcement to reference ongoing protests following the killing of George Floyd while in Minneapolis police custody on May 25. Derek Chauvin and three fellow officers — all since fired by the department — have been criminally charged with causing Floyd's death. URI and Georgetown both offered Carey the opportunity to play for a black head coach in David Cox and Patrick Ewing.
"RIP to George Floyd and all my fellow brothers and sisters that we lost to police brutality!" Carey wrote. "Being able to play for a black coach (especially with everything that's going on in today's world) was a no brainer."

Lots of respect for Cox and any other dark skinned person who has been treated in such a poor manner simply for being. It's a sad state of affairs in this country. Things need to change in a major way.

What is this?
Nevermind...I saw it on Twitter. I'm embarrassed and outraged.
