MSU has lost three straight games, they shouldn't stay ranked.

(Although yes with them being the program they are, wouldn't be shocked if the voters kept them in.

Not sure how the hell Creighton stayed in after getting WAXED at PC and then beating St Johns though.

Marquette jumped 9 spots from just outside the top 25 at 27th all the way to #18. Only played a single game at home where they beat ranked Butler.

His votes are always a bit extreme as he purposely votes non P5 schools higher. His pick for #25 each week is typically the only vote that school gets. This week he put Winthrop at #25 making him the only voter to have them ranked.

Because pollsters, like Kevin McNamara from Projo, vote them at #20 overall after their close 17 point loss to local powerhouse PC. Why would he drop them out after a narrow defeat to such a great team?

Throw Fatts and Dowtin on Markus Howard like he's Trae Young.

I know we can't get picky about what top 25 teams we schedule every year, but if I have 1 complaint about our schedule this year is we played 3 of the most athletic, long, top 25 teams in the country...a historic recipe for disaster for our squads.

We matchup much better against Butler, Marquette, Creighton, and even Villanova (I think Seton Hall is legit and not a good matchup for us).

Agree 104. It’s just how it worked out in terms of scheduling but best bet is to target P5 teams in 40-60s NET for away games. We certainly faced the gauntlet in terms of rankings and also the types of teams (big, long, athletic).

The whole conference is overrated. Pick a team. They all get quality wins by taking a few from each other at home and maybe one on the road so they can play the tough conference trump card. I would love to play anyone in the Big East

Seton Hall is not overrated. They are tough. Size, length and 1 of the best players in college basketball.
Nova also is Nova, but they are uncharacteristically young this year so that is their weakness. They aren't overly physical inside either.

I think SH is hands down the best BE team this year. As for the rest of the confrence i do believe is anywhere from slightly overrated to very overrated.

I agree this is the ideal scenario but in many cases it is tough to know with a high degree of certainty exactly where a team is going to end up, especially if you are scheduling out multiple years in advance like was the case with WVU. We are also somewhat at the mercy of what teams we get paired with in the exempt tournament. URI is unfortunately in a position where we take what we can get as far as P5 games to some degree. Maybe we could have gone on the road and beaten Tennessee or Utah, but whatever the case we have to make the best out of whatever hand we are dealt - I wouldn’t dismiss the possibility that seeing a Maryland up close and personally early in the season could be paying dividends now in this part of the schedule.

Hopefully the players use this as ammunition for tomorrow night. Show the AP and Coaches that we are a legitimate tournament team by taking it to Dayton.

Although, I tend to agree we are probably in that range from 25 to 28. Would have loved to be Top 25.

I hate that Davidson matchup while they are “clicking”. We can’t go in there COLD.
