2019-20 Overall Contest Predictions Summary

92 are participating in this year's contest, slightly below last season. No participant predicted a losing season for URI. The most popular bet is 21-9 with 23 board members selecting that record which was followed closely by the 20 selecting 20-10. The most bullish prediction at 26-4 is offered by Seawrightspostgame who was also at the top of the list last season. Interestingly the most pessimistic prediction at 15-15 is made by ramster who last season shared with seawright the most bullish prediction. ramster, on the other hand, spared Billyboy78 from the ignominy of being the most pessimistic predictor two years in a row.

For easy reading, I have clustered the predictions, first by overall record, followed by A-10 record, and then by team scoring sequenced from highest to lowest. Please review summary and let me know if there are errors because juggling all these numbers can make one cross-eyed .

NOTE: In cases where duplicates/errors were noted and there was no response to PM request to make correction, I have designated the disputed predictions by DNQ . If in that position, you will have one week to make the correction, otherwise you will not be eligible to win in that category.

OOC is much tougher this year, and lack of guard depth will take its toll on Jeff and Fatts. People were bashing me last year for my predictions, but I believe I came in 2nd or 3rd in every category, IIRC. Obie would know.

Getting a little ahead of ourselves. If we applied that logic to last year’s leading scorer who was a Jr, Jeff would average 18-19 ppg this year. He is avg 13 ppg. Fatts may also see better defense overall against him in the A10. He is at 21 ppg thru 9 games. There are still 21 games to go and the postseason.

That injury did look brutal. It was one of those where, when I saw the replay, said, 'they aren't going to show that again' (not sure if they did or not, but it was not good). Anyone heard anything further?

With the OOC portion of schedule complete at 8-4, everyone who did not have that prediction is eliminated from the overall contest. There are two exceptions to this caveat: 1) anyone in a single bettor cluster is still eligible no matter the OOC prediction. For example, Billyboy78 is the only bettor in the 16-14 cluster and his OOC prediction of 6-6 is irrelevant and so if the Rams end season with 16-14 record he wins. 2). if you are in cluster where no one has the correct OOC record you can still win the contest. Two variations of this option. In the 17-13 bet cluster, all four bettors have the same incorrect 6-6 OOC prediction so if that ends up being the Rams overall record, then Team Scoring will determine the winner. A second variant of this option is with clusters where there is a variation in wrong OOC records. For example in the 18-12 cluster, one group had OOC of 6-6 and another group had 7-5. Since 7-5 is closer to actual, they remain eligible and those with 6-6 are eliminated. Team scoring in both cases will determine the winner. Hope all of this is clear!!
