Uhhh what? I am not a fan of all this discipline. I’ll just say it bluntly. Stop fucking around with suspending guys and benching guys. This isn’t the NBA, there aren’t 82 games and then half the teams make the playoffs. We don’t have time for this. If they didn’t hurt anyone then yell really loud at them and then let them play. Just hurting their teammates and the people who support the program by doing this middle school discipline stuff (not even HS, because I did a lot of idiotic stuff in HS and got yelled at a bunch but they wouldn’t have let me miss a game).

So you’d rather have an ineffective coach that allows the athletes to walk all over them?
I’m sure there’s a reason Cyril is out or late or whatever... in 4 years he’s never been a problem, doubt he’d start now.

Relax. How about the guy just shows up on time? Does it really make a difference if he’s not out there for tip-off and comes in after the first media time out?

Idk about walk all over them. If guys are blatantly disrespectful and are off the reservation then they’re just off the team altogether. Either it’s bad enough that you dump them or you “deal with it internally” and make sure they’re on the court for their teammates. As a coach, you need to be able to tell who is not taking their responsibilities seriously and who made an honest mistake.

I think benching a guy for tip off for being late is more than appropriate. Suspending for a full game is over the top.
