It looks as if when he didn't sign with FIU, he kind of disappeared into his postgrad year. This Nevada article kind of makes it sound like that:

This season, Richards will play for the post-graduate school TaylorMade Academy in Metairie, La. He was originally a class of 2019 recruit but opted for another prep season rather than attending FIU. “I wanted to weigh my options and use another year to better myself," Richards said. "I just want to be more consistent." Given his circuitous route, Richards has fallen under the recruiting radar, but he has an intriguing combination of size, length and athleticism.
Taylor said Richards' commitment to FIU impacted the teams that were interested in him “He was a four-star recruit and I think a lot of people saw he was committed to FIU and all the coaches assumed he’d go there and then he made his decision not to go there and now a lot of people are figuring, ‘Hey, he’s available,’ and stuff like that," Taylor said. "Once we get going (with our season), I have no doubt he’ll have a plethora of interest from a lot of schools and then he’ll just have to figure out what his best fit is.”

Interesting he didn’t go to TaylorMade Academy (LA). He is at Springfield Commonwealth Academy (MA).

He was at TaylorMade in October so he just recently transferred to Springfield.

At the coach's show Cox told me they are focusing on bigs, but wasn't specific because he can't be.

He won’t be at the game tonight. He team is playing in a Prep Showcase at St Andrew’s in Barrington at 6:30.

I will watch him play in the next few weeks. They are playing in FL tomorrow and Monday then back to MA for games next week. Their schedule has a wide variety of competition. They play some very weak teams that won’t be a good gauge.

I'm Glad Cox has BIGS on the priority list because we need more than one banger (Harris) in there after Cryil leaves. There isn't anyone else on the roster that can play Center besides those two.

Richards didn’t play the previous 2 games. Nursing an injury. Played last night. These games seem to lack defense by either team. Scoring 90-100 points is the norm. They shoot very early in the shot clock. I am hoping their game Tuesday vs Woodstock Academy has more defense in it.

Watching Richards play in Prep event. They are playing a team from Canada.

Richards has good size. I would say 6’8” 215. Sitting next to a guy who runs the Canadian team program. He think 6’8” max.

First half impression:
Strong defensively
Good rebounder (other team doesn’t have a lot of size). I think he has 6-7 defensive rebounds
Good motor
Needs to develop offensive skills (4 points - layup on nice pass from Cheeks and 2-4 FT).

Overall impression the same as first half. Showed quickness on D covering Guards on switches.
Didn’t score in the 2nd half. I didn’t get any official stats. I would guess 10-11 rebounds & 3 blocks.
He struggled scoring underneath in this game.
Body wise he looks like Cyril at the start of his Fr year.

I would think he could contribute his Soph year of college.

Side note - SCA won. The best player on their team is Aaron Gray from RI (6’6”). He stood out.
Best player in the game was Cobe Elvis (for Bill Corthers school from Toronto). He has committed to DePaul 6’2” PG.

If the staff really wanted him wouldn't they try and get a commitment before others jump in?

I think they are undecided and want to see how Richards performs against very good preps in the next two months.
I agree they are holding off.

With so many available scholarships now we should hope that we can get this kid. I’m hoping we can land a transfer also or maybe a grad transfer. It is tough to picture us getting three more freshman for the 2020 class. I’m wondering if Johnson is also a candidate to be the next guy to leave the program. It is highly doubtful it ever works out for him at URI.

Time to move on this kid - 17 points, 11 rebounds & 2 blocks in game vs Brewster Academy. Brewster is loaded so this is a very good sign. I am going to watch Isaiah tomorrow night. Will report back.

looks like they play PSA (Josh Gray) on the 15th. should be a good matchup.

Someone said the staff was waiting on Richards playing a couple games against strong competition before scheduling a visit, and that if he visits there's a good chance he commits.

Well gentlemen start your engines and get this kid on campus sometime soon after this next game.

They play Redemption Christian Academy tomorrow, at PSA Weds and then in Prep HoopHall Showcase (new added event in Springfield) on Saturday (Beckly Prep) and Sunday (Massanutten Military Academy). That is top competition.
