Dana shoots the 3 and stands there and watches it. Go to the boards and the ball would have bounced right back to him. Basketball 101 for someone like him but not for the guards who have to get back on D.

Martin's performance and lack of effort is extremely poor and disappointing. But after that, Jeff's lacking the ability to be a factor is second. And something I didn't expect or thought would be a problem at the beginning of the year. Fatts has been super, but like these guys are saying he needs some help.

Dowtin has been bad this year.

Tyrese looks like he doesn’t give a single care in the world.

Fatts is very good.

Tyrese Martin has zero fire in the belly.. very disappointed in his effort on both ends of the court.. fatts and Cyril monster fire in the belly.. lot more fun watching them give it their all.. LSU too athletic up and down the lineup for us

Agree let Toppin finish the game to experience this level.

No way we are keeping this team off the glass the last five minutes - too deep, too big and fast and we need 2 more guys who can play.

Well, on the bright side, Russell is playing really well. NCAA Tourney well.

When he is in control of himself, he's the best player on the court. That includes the desire to get all of his teammates involved.

Good news is that the A-10 doesn't have players with LSU's length and quickness. Our interior defense has been non-existent.

Sure do miss a guy like ARD as an assistant coach when I watch this game. No one finds a man to box when a shot goes up. How many easy put backs did LSU have today. Get an ass on someone. Jeesh.

Aside from Marin looking horrible, the interior defense (or lack thereof) was the most disappointing aspect of this game. I understand that we don’t have LSU’s overall size, but it’s not as if we’re a small team. Langevine, Harris, Tate, Toppin...we need to be better on that side of the ball. Giving up a shade under 100 points is unacceptable.

I wish it was LSU's depth. They played 8 and we played 9. We had more points from the bench than they did. The same three guys for them beat our guys with effort. Tough game to watch.

Some people on URI's roster go through the game at a walk-through pace. Doesn't help.

With Toppins length and athleticism I would love to eventually see him as aggressive around the rim as the kid Williams from LSU. Hopefully Toppin doesn’t fall in love with the 3 and think he belongs hanging round the arc.

Maybe losing a starting job / even if just for a game will light a fire in TM’s belly / altho he really hasn’t shown it

Toppin might win the starting job from Martin at this rate. This was a very disappointing game for Martin. You want to wear T-Mac shoes, fine, but you gotta bring it every game. You can't be up one game, and this far down the next.

I don’t see any part of Toppin’s game that’s worse than Martin’s. And he brings a LOT more energy. He should be starting.

You should win when you score 83 points. Horrible defense. LSU shot 54% and was 9 turnovers below their season average.

Yes but we have 3 who can play at a high level while they have 7 who can play at that level. That is what I meant by depth. Our freshman and sophomores really got exposed today.

I think the addition of Walker up front is gong to help. If CL or Harris is on the bench, we look vulnerable to offensive rebounds and give up too many second chance points.
Hopefully he provides a boost defensively as well.

I had this as a loss. We needed to beat North Texas and we did. We still have no bad losses on the year. It already was but PC at home is a must win.

Not sure why people are up in arms. Very tough matchup for us, and even moreso when they are hitting from perimeter. I think we looked a step slow on D, but that team is explosive offensively. For context they put up 82 at VCU who has a Top 20 D. Scored 80s vs Utah State the other night.

Def was a game we needed 2 bigs in there at all times and where we really were missing Walker. Got killed when Cyril would challenge the shot and leave their bigger guys against our smaller guys for rebounds. Harris is improving, its baby steps but its getting there. Really needed Tyrese to have a big game today and he was a no show. Kinda funny you guys are all forgetting he hit 2 dagger threes to seal the Nicholls and North Texas games. Today was a tough one for him but that kid is a player just has to find consistency like most young guys.

I never had this game as a W anyhow, there are plenty of winnable games left on our schedule and I like our chances in the A10.

I’m not even mad about this lost.
I think this early in the season something positive can come away from this game.
Fatts,dowtin, CL are who we e petted to be.

Very very disappointed in Martin. It’s almost like he needs a slap in the face to wake up. He is sleep walking out there.

Topping hustles to say the least. Not a great jump shot but will rebound and defend and still working.

Tate is up and down. Had moments against Alabama but nothing seem to build on bc last few games he has no where to be seen.

Harris needs something i don’t know. More has been expected out of him.

LSU was very long and athletic and without the depth would of been a tough game to win.

Good time for rhody to look itself in the mirror and fix things.
Sorry for the long rant. It’s sunday and the beers are flowing!

Defense overall was non-existent. Martin and Jeff continuously beat off the dribble one-on-one which caused the defensive breakdowns low. They also got beat and LSU dished to wide open threes (40%). No pressure on the ball against a team that averages 19.6 turnovers per game.
