I don’t think they are reducing the allocated seats for students. They maybe moving some. Most likely because they are expecting a demand for those Loge Endzone section seats for season tickets or five game plans. The loge Endzone sections are $275 and the Upper Endzone sections are $170. For single game tickets it is $20 vs $15.RhodyRams916 wrote: ↑4 years ago Can someone explain to me why they are gonna stop letting students sit in the opposite side (107, 108, 109)? Sections107-109 will be used for groups, etc... Students rarely sat in those seats. I believe they extended the student seating upward into sections 201/202/215/301Rhody83 wrote: ↑4 years agoI don’t think they are reducing the allocated seats for students. They maybe moving some. Re: Ryan Center In-Game Experience - Issues and Upgrades
It looks good on tv only when there are a lot of students sitting in those seats. That typically only happens for the big games (probably about 1/3 of the schedule). Empty seats directly behind the baskets looks terrible on tv for all the other games.RhodyRams916 wrote: ↑4 years ago Can someone explain to me why they are gonna stop letting students sit in the opposite side (107, 108, 109)? As others have noted, the student allotment has not changed. Their seat locations have however been changed with less lower section seating and more upper level seating (much of it being in the 300 balcony sections).

Yes and I do see a lot of times that they give those seats youth groups that they bring on during halftime, etc. Ticket lady. Can't believe we're all going to get to see her again tomorrow- it's been too long.RF1 wrote: ↑4 years agoIt looks good on tv only when there are a lot of students sitting in those seats. Oh ok I gotcha. So they are just giving students more upper level seats (which isn't a big deal). There's really no bad seat in the ryan center.RF1 wrote: ↑4 years agoIt looks good on tv only when there are a lot of students sitting in those seats. It actually looks like they are giving students a few more seats this year. I think 301+314 is bigger than 109+108 (on the other side).RF1 wrote: ↑4 years agoIt looks good on tv only when there are a lot of students sitting in those seats. Coming out of my offseason hibernation to chime in here;
I’m 100% on board with the decision to move all students to one side and away from that south end zone.
It’s been extremely difficult for years to get a good atmosphere going with the students sitting in that end zone. Crowd participation has always lacked there despite our best efforts and it’s obviously impossible to have me in two places at once... so I think this is the correct move.
In my opinion having the entire “traditional” Ruckus end zone sections filled all the way up looks great on TV and encourages everyone to get involved.
Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow and kicking off season 12 on the mic!

Wasn’t it the new security last season? Have they “enhanced” it again this year?
Hoping they are just being tighter for the concert.

Screw Care New England. I cannot forgive it for deliberately sabotaging the operations of Pawtucket Memorial Hospital as part of its plan to justify a quick shutdown.gazakaza wrote: ↑4 years ago Seems as though we finally know what’s going on our our court.

Just imagine if the much smaller South County Hospital was shut down with only a 60 day notice. Then imagine a possible similar local situation where in the first weekend after the closure, several of the nearby ER's in the area temporarily shut down due to an influx of patients they had trouble servicing.

Should dictate that it’s the logo on wood and not a background color

That’s what I was referring to. Awful! SCH is the closest hospital to me and if anything ever happened there I would rather roll the dice than go to Kent.

totally ugly - i mean i iwll need to see the entire court but i really don't understand the decisions being made
could easily have come p w/a logo in lettering without the baby blue backdrop
totally minor leagues in my opinion
also, the 2 "3 point lines" look is a complete minor league setup also
what's next ? volleyball lines aka keaney gym ?
i be curious to see how the bigger conferences handle the 2 point lines
i understnad this is a tougher fix.. but this is a bad overall look
extend the women out and be done with it and remove the double 3 point line

i see Uconn has the same setup as us regarding the 2 "3 PT" lines
i guess that's the only way to go but I dont like it 1 bit
horrible look - especially when you have the dark stained hardwood floor inside the 3 point line

I saw it on season ticket holder night. The dark stain is a bad look.
But who knows if they change the 3 point line again in the future? Or for WBB?
It seems confusing, but I’m sure the players will adjust

I’d love to know where this NCAA money is going.
The court looks like shit. Looks like it hasn’t been refinished in years. We have stickers on the floor like a high school.
We have no instant replay.
They don’t take credit cards in the alumni lounge.
I can’t drink a beer in my seat.
Did we not advertise this game? Lowest attended opener in 5 years.
Idk. Maybe I’m just pissed because I bet Rhody in the 1st half and the whole game but color me extremely restless with rapidly dropping expectations for the year. I feel like time is a flat circle.

Re: Ryan Center In-Game Experience - Issues and Upgrades
I think the only real thing that is an issue to me was the attendance. I thought it was terrible in terms of the turnout. It looked like an exhibition game. I thought they sold more season tickets from last year or at least retained what they had. I guess very few walk ups. I agree on the advertising. Give 1500 tickets to schools or anyone to get people in the seatsBlue Man wrote: ↑4 years ago I’d love to know where this NCAA money is going.

The opponent still matters to people. After a down season last year and no more Dan Hurley media hype there was no way they would draw like the last few years on opening night. Especially when there are much better opponents coming to town soon.

I was there. I thought the attendance would be better, but weeknight games are tough for some people. Plus, Long Island doesn’t bring any buzz, either.

Nothing screams small time like having students call the game on ESPN+. Another place where we are cheaping out and not investing in a more up-leveled production. Stone is great, and he is going to be very good in this profession with age and experience, but a program with NCAA aspirations shouldn't have students on the call. Sorry.

I had heard from at least 3 people that the “rainy weather” took them away from attending the game. Such a lame excuse. Don’t get me started here.
My eyes went to that “Care New England” logo more times than I wanted to and I never thought once, “oh what a great sponsor!” Nope. Not only are they more about profit rather than care, but their sticker on the court looks like something someone would slap on a Nalgene bottle.
Being able to take a drink to seats would be such an upgrade. Does anyone here know the legality on it? I had thought it was something to do with the Carothers era still, maybe I’m wrong.
Other than that great to see JV on his 12th season.
“Going Bad” is a great intro song choice.
