Shouldn't be throwing slant routes with Parker and Coulter anyway!

Throw it up to them!

Ideally, Edouard gets up to speed quickly and can start. Vito is a capable backup if there's an injury of the transfer is too unreliable. Perrantes will redshirt but could see some action. He'll be a three or four-year starter. Depth better than it seemed.

Thanks for the insight. How does Grant figure into everything.

The hope was Grant could be another Lawson.
He will have to improve.
I am hoping with 4-5 good RBs they pound the ball running.
at 2nd and 3rd and short,it can really open up play calling.

If the transfer can play Grant looks to me like #3 on the depth chart.

Unless Vito has improved considerably, I'm not feeling great about this offense.

Grant is not a dual threat QB. Pocket passer.

Remember this staff once had Tyler Harris starting over Jajuan Lawson.

If Vito ends up starting. Glad he got some time last year.

Ah, didn't realize he was hurt.

The fact that Darius is competing for the starting job as a true freshman, against a guy whose a redshirt junior, tells me that he's the real deal.

Or that Vito ain't. Or if Darius cant beat someone out who ain't the real deal, then he is not the real deal and we have no real deals at QB this year and things may get uggllly at times.

Who on this board has been by practice to watch the QBs?
First hand reports I am getting from people who have are totally different than the ones on this board?
While theres no guarantees it's startling.
Lawson and Harris did not do anything their Sr. years.
There are 4 QBS who have either been in college forever or look great (pick one).
Loaded at all the other offensive positions.
The biggest obstacle will be the schedule (as always).

What do you mean by Lawson and Harris did not do anything their Senior Years? What more did you expect from Lawson?

As Iggy also asked, what are your first hand reports telling you? Please share.

That was Lawson's Red shirt Sr. season (he had great year),like a different guy out there. 5 years min.
In his Sr. season they won 3 games.
Sometimes he pressed (Elon) or did nothing (Towson)?). They whiffed against a terrible Brown team.

Here is what i have seen and heard first hand-Vito throws a good to great long ball.
The play is vastly improved amongst the QBs since the spring time.
Vito and Perrantes have looked good (at a minimum) this summer.
Vito is not the magician Lawson was his RS year or Perrantes, but he certainly can improve greatly.
The QB depth was a concern heading into camp,Flemings comments are 180 deg. since spring.
So have said others.
There are no guarantees once the season starts, but the only people implying the QB work has been sub standard are on this board.
All I am asking is what have you seen differently?

It's just that, Vito played so horribly last year. Couldn't even get to 100 yards in two games.

Was good against a scrub Brown team, but other than that, it was not good.

The Maine game was fine, but he went 19-40.

I havent seen a practice so I'm just basing what I think from what I've seen.

yes, the comments on Vito are based on what we all saw last year. From a person who knows what they're talking about: "This team is a QB away from being very good." That's the perception until one of these QBs changes it.
I went to the scrimmage and Vito had some nice plays. He threw 3 TDs but he was also sacked three times as he doesn't move great in the pocket. He also threw a couple up for grabs that were drops by DBs. But I have to say he was better than I expected.
Perrantes looks like a future star but how soon? Fleming is thrilled with him.
How this plays out will be interesting and will determine how successful the team is this year. The other pieces are pretty much in place.

They say Perrantes looks great and is ready.
There is an old saying-"what you do in practice ,you will do in the games".
To have a great team you have to have great practices.
So true, that is why I am a little skeptical about the criticisms.

So who do you think starts vs Ohio University based on your inside knowledge?
I think Fleming goes with Perrantes.

Interesting!
Could be that Perrantes is making the choice very difficult for Fleming and Staff.
Good problem to have - the back up QB will not be that much different from the Starter
Fleming may also be keeping Ohio U in the dark as to who the starter is going to be
I like it

There is ample tape on Vito.
Not sure the secret about Peranntes.
One would have to go back to HS.
That would not tell much for D1 college game prep.

Fleming said it’s an advantage against the competition not to announce.
Even if it’s just a very slight advantage might as well take it.
The teams performance against Ohio U then Delaware will be telling regardless who is the QB.
No need to announce if it’s that close and both QBs are good. Most important is who starts vs Delaware - 1st CAA Conference And FCS game.
