I stand corrected and owe Dowtin an apology. It was a VCU player in the handshake line that instigated it per video footage showed well after the game.

FYI - You can clearly see that someone on VCU initiated it with Dowtin during the handshake. He started yelling at him and another VCU player stepped into Dowtin to push him away before Dowtin even knew what was happening. They just showed it twice on NBCSN.

They just showed a replay of the altercation at the end of the game. Marcus Evans had words with Dowtin and then shoved him during the handshake line. Cox was there to push Dowtin away, but he was fired up!

Screw VCU! They think they're so big and bad, but we were the tougher team today. End of story. And quite frankly, we've had their number the last few years. This is our conference baby! Great win today, fellas!

For anyone looking to head down for tomorrow's game

Tickets on the 3rd party sites should be pretty cheap since the team with the biggest fan presence just got bounced early.

Amtrak will cost around $200 round trip depending on the train capacity.

Theres a bunch of different bus lines that offer round trip tickets for Saturday/Sunday that will get you to manhatton. From there you can take the subway or uber/lyft/taki over to BK. Theres a dedicated stop on one of the subway lines for the Barclays.

Hotels will he super expensive, really no way around that, especially booking last minute.

Theres a good app called hotel tonight that offers some solid last minute deals but that part of the trip will be $$$$$ if you plan on staying overnight.

can save some $$$ by driving into CT as well. Metro North runs out to New Haven

For hotels I also reccomend looking at Jersey City. Plenty of business hotels there on the water that are cheaper than Brooklyn and surprisingly an extremely quick Path+Subway ride to Barclays.

Sounds like the Dowtin/Evans kerfuffle continued in the tunnel after the teams left the court and security had to get involved.

Tate was WOW.5-6 FGs and 2-2 on 3FGs. 6 big rebounds 2 assists. Awesome game at such a huge time

Silverio with two big rebounds and 2 big steals and no turnovers in an important 9 minutes on the floor

Christian Thompson’s last Free Throw attempt was against George Washington back on Feb 26
No FTs vs Dayton, St Joseph’s, UMASS or LaSalle
Then today, the 68% FT shooter goes 9-9 in clutch situations - huge. Great performance. Martin and Thompson both played 28 minutes and very solidly contributed to this win.

I’m guessing the Evans words to and push of Jeff is that he’s blaming him for the contact on the foul where he got hurt. Utter frustration on his part watching his team go down without him.

I can’t believe just a couple of weeks ago we had lost 7 of 8 games. Now on a 6 game win streak into the semifinals. This is like ‘17 again.

VCU fans are calling our players and Cox classless. Saying Dowtin went after an injured player, it was obvious Evans started that in the handshake line. And they're saying Cox called the VCU players "pussies" after Evans got hurt... what a load of BS. I love what this rivalry has evolved in to but seriously? Grow up. Win and lose with dignity, VCU...

Yeah I tried to do while the game was in progress for once but my "real" work was taking too much of my computer power so it was choppy. Ill prob try to do it tonight

Unselfish play by Fatts was huge. When he committed his 5th foul he stopped a 2-0 VCU fastbreak. Instead of 2 easy points VCU missed the front end of the 1-1.

It was unselfish, however it was after his second consecutive turnover. When he came in off the bench he threw a bad pass for 2 easy VCU points and then he had the ball stolen from him off the dribble. That’s when he committed his 5th foul.
