It doesn’t matter how good or bad Rhode Island is or for that matter how good or bad Dayton is. The one thing that remains constant is Rhode Island winning at Dayton. I’d love to know their record at Dayton since 2004 when Hellenga hit the 3 from the corner to win.

7-9 all time there

5-3 since 2009...the rest of the A10 has 11 combined wins there in the same time frame

I know I'm in minority but the weave gets them moving, and got Dayton into a zone. I think it actually has worked pretty well.

I don’t like leaving only Dayton players on the FT lane for rebounding and all our guys go back. It makes for a weird feeling for the URI shooters. The last time Martin almost was able to get his own miss but if URI had players in the lane for possible rebound we would have had a great chance for the rebound.
Just seems more like playing scared and not to lose than playing to win.

Best win of year.. best character game of year.. after big loss to Dayton at home to do this shows there is a pulse and some fight on this team.. well earned win and kudos to Cox for getting this kind of effort tonight.. love to see them throw a scare into someone at Brooklyn.. maybe break some more NCAA hopeful hearts..

Career high for Langevine tonight. His shooting percentage was great. Plus 8 rebounds. Player of the week type performance.

Agreed. It looks kind of silly but I feel like it’s better than one guy holding the ball for 10 seconds while everyone else stands around.

Agree on this Ramster; maybe it puts extra pressure on the shooter, and an unfamiliar look.

At the right time, no less. They’ve had this all along.

Looks like an entirely new offense with Jeff back at the true 1 and Fatts playing pass first in the two man game. I’ve been begging for this and it looks like it’s finally come around.

If we can establish some big to big ball movement watch out - we have three guys that have shown the ability to pass and score from the high/low post.

The most encouraging part of this game, to me, was again the freshmen. Tate has grown leaps and bounds with his interior defense. He needs more minutes at the 4.

Martin had a generally awful game but came up with a huge steal and rebound late in OT. Missed the front end but that can be forgiven with the outcome of the game...

When we went down two, I was certain this game was lost and I still would have been happy. Bravo, Rhody. A little experience for these kids with their new coach and I think we will have quite the show in Kingston.

I am surprised Coach didn't put in Harris to guard Toppin at some point late in game or in OT. No way CT could stop him, or Tate, although they tried their best.

I thought Tate played very well at end; the offensive foul was tough but at least he was aggressive. He worked hard on D and boards as well.

I started praising it as a joke but it was clearly a gimmick to get the ball and the players moving on offense and it has done that. They’ve also started to put in some gadgets off of it which have also been weirdly effective. I’m not joking when I say that it is actually helping, as goofy as it looks.
