The announcers the other night said Wheeler was a 6-2 guard. Uh, nope.

Hahha I remember when they said that.

Terrible research

Better than Mobley’s career???
Yea I don't see Jared surpassing Mobley's career.
Yeah I totally misspoke. In my head the excitement was too much and I was just thinking of end-of-career Cat, but even that's wrong. Mea culpa. 3rd wouldn't be bad though haha.

Lamar's first pro appearance since his near death. Dubai tournament. Video shows the layup described as getting the biggest reaction of the night. Who would have predicted with so many strokes and heart attacks that he'd make it to this point?

Listening to the Bill Simmons podcast on The Ringer, he is interviewing Chris Bosh. In the middle of their conversation they start going through great lefty players, and Bosh says "I remember watching Lamar Odom at Rhode Island when I was a kid."

To show how much the game has changed since then, we attempted three 3 point shots in that game. And we had some VERY good shooters on that team. Penders' game was to get out and run and get easy baskets. I wish we would do some of that now.

Finally got the monkey off our back last year with the NCAA OT win over Oklahoma. Had lost our two previous OT games in the tourney (above vs Purdue in 1997 and Charlotte in 1999).

I don’t think he’s currently on the team. Last thing I found on him was that he was waived in January.

During Stanley Wright's induction yesterday, it was mentioned that he had over 1300 points and over 300 assists for his career. Silk Owens, Tyson Wheeler, Jiggy Williamson and Tommy Garrick are the only others to do that. Pretty good....BTW, some time next season, Jeff Dowtin will be the 6th player in URI history to do that.

Jimmy Baron just got a nice shout out by Dicky V during a little segment about great 3 point shooters in college basketball this year during the WCC championship.

I’ll never forget that Duke game. Man how bad I wish we could have pulled that one off. That whole season was tough.
