I would never think of firing a coach in year one, but David Cox is probably making the best case for such a thing.

Too many TOs obviously (10), but also we just can’t make a jump shot. I have watched this team all season and am still amazed at all the open shots we miss.

I think the cumulative playing minutes of basically a 6 1/2 man rotation has caught up with this team over the last five or six games. Also, the loss of Akele and Layssard really hurt our depth. Not that it would much matter.

David Cox, great guy as I met him last summer at the alumni event downtown. But I'm beginning to think Fatts is suffering from this coaching change as well. Fatts made game-winning plays on the biggest of stages defending a top 5 NBA pick just last season (v Oklahoma). I want to know what happened to that Fatts Russel. Because last season wasn't fake.

I think Harris and Martin still have a future and high ceiling. I would be shocked if Tate or Silverio end up contributing at all. As freshmen, Thompson and Akele were much better than both Tate or Silverio.

I was at that game and got to tell Fatts how that play on Trae was my favorite play of the game! I must have watched that play 100 times...what happened?!

URI first couple sets were Harris in the 5 working the high post offense with some success. Eventually we got back to the weave 25’ away from the hoop. I know my hoops and I seriously don’t know what style of offense that is. Can somebody help me with describing what that is? We are playing 7 guys and it looks to me like it just wears our guys out.

A good motion offense would rip VCU to shreds.

Thompson and Akele also hit walls at this part of the season in their freshman year.

......can’t Explain nor defend the offense scheme.......I had hoped Cox would have a style, a concept, a something on offense we could grasp and follow......nothing, game after game, same shit all over.......disappointing to say the least......we are plodding slow team......

Poor CL, what’s he supposed to do? he gets the ball and gets double or triple teamed, but has no option but try and take a shot since the options to pass it to can’t hit the side of a barn even when wide open.

THIS. I used to think it was a problem with the offense. But we get plenty of open shots.. we just can’t knock them down. Hopefully this is where we can improve. If you don’t score, nothing else really matters.
