Why?!?! Why?!?!? Why?!?!? With 40+ seconds left we did not need to shoot a 3! We suck at 3s! Just too many really low basketball IQ plays.

It’s crazy not to call a timeout, but you shouldn’t even need a timeout to know that you don’t need a three in that situation. The players not knowing that is also coaching, though.

Oh good we’ll take two timeouts now to make up for the one we didn’t take before.

This basketball program has gone from a source of pure joy and my favorite thing in my life to a source of complete frustration and misery and embarrassment in 10 months. Makes me want to throw up what has happened to this program. This season wasn’t turning around after the previous two weeks, but to come out and put up this effort today after having a week off against the worst program on the east coast with two legends in the building...I want to crawl in a hole and weep.

I am starting to agree. I wanted to give Cox the benefit of doubt, and I really thought Sutton and Carroll were great hires and would really help. But I am starting to wonder if he is simply in over his head. And if the team has quit on him.

I know they are really young, but they should be better than this.

They took like 5 three point shots at the end there and missed. Things need to change.

Nice ppl but they all are clueless. I wish we had a coach with head coaching history so we can envision where we are going. URI is probably too big a job for Cox to start his career. Probably for most coaches.

This isn’t a typical Baron season. It’s worse. At least with Baron with 2 exceptions they were competitive. They weren’t losing at home to some of the worst programs in the country. They couldn’t win big games but they normally won the games they were supposed to. Today was as bad as it gets for this program in a long, long time.

Totally agree. Baron’s biggest issue was his best teams couldn’t get over the hump; his average teams didn’t usually fail to show up as many times over his decade here as this team has failed to show up this year.

I will not be making the trip to watch us play VCU Tuesday.
I dont wanna watch VCU put the finishing touches on the reality of how irrelevant we have become.

With the Fordham loss, URI has now lost five of their last six games. The team's shooting has been atrocious over the period especially three point shooting. Fatts Russell trey shooting in those six games was 2-22, 9%. This team has now collapsed. Six games left - can they win another.

Its rare that you get to see one player make 3 plays in the last minute of the game that costs your team a win.

And he's supposedly the best of the freshman. yikes

This team as a whole has a very low basketball IQ. Nothing the coach can do about that.

If any team plays us man to man the rest of the year their coach should have their head examined.

That money offered to Hurley came from donors. Once Hurley left, the donors pulled the cash. If you're going to get mad at someone for the school being frugal, I suggest you write a hate-filled post directed at those donors and not the school.

Fordham +11 was a handout and now that’s sports betting is legal in RI you should be cashing in on every URI game, whether you have a bookie or not.

I’ve made double my annual donation (which may be put on hold) in just the last three games.

Cash in, Rhody Fans! Spend time on a warm beach somewhere in March (we won’t have meaningful games) courtesy of our bad play!
