Rick Pitino was a freshman when J was a junior. But they had freshmen teams then so he didn’t play with him.

Ouch. Those two stretches total 2-28. Tough to have an overall winning record against a team when you can put together two stretches that combine for a total of thirty games and you only win two of them. That net -26 makes all the difference and then some in the all-time series.

Rather than thinking even if we lose tomorrow we are still looking down our nose at them, I’d rather think another win Sunday continues us on the path of putting together a run of our own to cancel out their dominant stretches which built their series lead.

Correct. Basically all of these universities are in weak conferences as it is... May as well attempt at building something more sensibly relevant.

North:
URI
UMass
UConn
UVM
UNH
UMaine/Delaware

South:
VCU
St. Louis
George Mason
Dayton
Cincinnati
ODU/Charlotte

If the conference considered smaller private schools/honorable mentions from the above: UNCA, UNCW, Davidson, Siena, Richmond, CoC, Stony Brook, St. Bonaventure, Delaware, JMU, Northeastern, HC, Bucknell... I’m sure there’s others I’ve thought of and missed here.

I can dream. This would instantly create a huge market to corner... there’s a lot of students/alumni of these schools. Main problem is the stupid football thing... Some of these teams are FCS, a couple are FBS. One being UConn... who we beat this season.

It could work, but unfortunately would never even be considered.

All I know is that we are gonna have to earn this one.

They are playing horribly.

You can guarantee they are going to play up for us.

They never have an off night at home against us.

Gotta play every team like they're VCU.

Erving played just two years of varsity basketball at UMass. His teams went to the NIT both seasons and were promptly bounced in their first game. While he was a great player, his playing career was short-lived and the teams he played on, while good by regional standards then, were not national powers.

To be fair only 25 teams made the NCAAs during his time (7 teams had byes) so it wasn’t terrible to be selected for the NIT.

Cyril-3 turnovers in 8 minutes. He and the team would be so much better if he played to his strengths. Trying to go to the hoop from 10-12 feet away and needing to dribble ain't one of them.
